the person who owned my car before me(95gsx) when he tried to remove the transmission he cut the shift linkage wire and also bent the shiftlinkage and weight conected to the trans. Then he jb welded the shift linkage back together, but the weight and linkage on the trans is still bent.
I was wondering if there is any way to replace the whole shifting mechanisim on the trans without taking the trans apart.
I can not post pictures right now but it is the actual shifter on the transmission thanks dan

so the arms are bent??? if so yes you can replace everything without replacing anything in the transmission. the arms one is bolted on the other you have to pry off.

the selector arm you can remove by unbolting 2 12mm bolts that holds it on the exterior casing. The shifter arm however you can't unless the transmission comes apart.

It looks like Bryanwheat is correct. The manual shows the control shaft and shifter arm (one with the weight) as being one unit. However looking more closely at a pic I have, I see a hole in the shifter arm which must have a pin holding it onto the control shaft. Good catch (I gave you rep points)! I learned something :thumb:

I recently was going to buy a new selector assembly, as there was not on the transmission I bought. However, talking to JNZ it seems that Mitsubishi does not even make some of the parts for the assembly anymore. If you need to replace the assembly it is going to be easiest to find one at a junkyard. Just so you are aware!
