Im sorry I haven't uploaded anything for a while.. I have been working on it though. I don't want to post any pictures of the car until the paint is ready (already sprayed, just need to finish polishing it). I have got some '07 350z seats from a friend that I've modified to fit in the s30, I'll get some pictures up this weekend. Heres a list of what Ive been up to lately with the car:

-Paint and polish of the whole exterior
-New oil cooler and an fittings etc.
-350z seats
-Finishing up the fuel install stuff
-A few other little things I've forgotten or not worth mentioning

So, hopefully this means i can finally start working on the wiring and get this car to move on its own power...

great build so far, being a huge datsun fan and eclipse fan i am deff keeping an eye on this.

as for a few people dissing the rb series, lame, rb's are fantastic, and the block design stems from the l series motors. including the l28et. a bad ass but very heavy motor.

First of all, sorry for the serious lack of update. Gonna try to post regularly and get more detailed photos of when i do things. I had a lot more photos of the car when i was working on it but sadly, the SD card was damaged and now a lot of them are gone. below are some photos of the stuff that ive been working on:

Finished up the fuel system:

Started and finished the oil lines: -6 AN lines for the oil cooler w/ -10 female to -6 male fitting from the cooler, -4 An (i believe) for the oil feed, -10 AN lines for the oil drain

I need some advice on what i should do to keep the hose from heating up too much, its about 3/8" away from the manifold... I'm thinking of just wrapping the hose with header wrap... let me know if you have anything in mind.

Once i had the oil lines figured out, i started the Catch can lines: really wish i had photos of everything being assembled and such but like i said, the SD was damaged..

Then i started the wastegate, knockoff tial, set up (PS im a horrible welder)

Painted my exhaust with some autozone 1200 degree paint, Hope it lasts past start up...

Where the cars at now w/ the wire harness:

Now this is what im working on now:
-3 PTFE brake lines and fittings, only have the rear line installed so far

All the wiring, I finally got all the wiring to work and ECU powers on and have spark and fuel injectors are firing..

Finally, the dash:
Still needs the gauge holes cut out, grind down some ugly welds, then some flat black paint..

Should go with higher heat paint, i think its 2500 or 3000 degree?
wanna see how the seats will look in it! coming along clean, bay wise, haha.

Just read through this whole thread. Great work! I love the old datsuns. Who cares what your welds look like if they work and you're satisfied with them. I'd love to be able to even weld on your level.

The cams are stock.
Not exactly sure why it idles the way it does.

That's interesting. Mine would sound like that when a cylinder wasn't firing. If you can get a comp hooked up to it, see if you are running lean at idle? Mine would read off the scale lean cause a injector was being stupid. Not trying to freak you out haha, could be nothing.

That could be it, but all 4 cylinders have spark and all injectors are firing. An injector or two may be clogged, though. I got these injectors from a junkyard 2g about a year ago and never tested them. They're only there to get the car started

I should be getting some larger injectors once i can get a wideband. Hopefully it fixes the idle.

Small update, the car still needs aways to go before its ready for the street like DSMlink, wideband, larger injectors, coilovers, tires, bolting up all the little things, etc. but i couldn't help but drive the car for the first time every since i've owned it.

First drive barely hit 2.5k rpm in 1st gear, just to get a feel for the car. the last "pass" was 1.5k to 4.5K rpm in 1st gear before the car cut the fuel (i believe).

Finally got some coilovers. Only they're for a 240sx...

Jacked the car up and took it apart

So, I had to do some fabrication work. I put the top hats on the lathe and turned them down to the correct diameter, then i drilled out the holes for the 3 bolts and milled out a step so the bolts can sit flush with the bottom of the top hat.

Then I had to cut and square the lower part of the coilovers

Basically how its cut.

Was very fortunate that the outside diameter of the old strut tube just barely fits in the inside diameter of the new tube. I didn't show the prep, but basically used the grinder to clean up the surfaces. Inserted the yellow tube about 1" over the black stock tube. This may the tube should sit straight

Looking at this picture you might think the overall length of the tube is WAY to long.. and you'd be correct. Somehow during my measurements i wrote down 27.5" length when it should have been 22.5"!! So when i tried to install them, the damn things didn't fit and i realized that they were about 5" too larger.. figures
So I removed the assembly and recut, remeasured (3 times), rewelded, and reinstalled them

This is how the car sits, it still has about 2.5" of drop but i like how it looks with this height and will keep it
