Is there such set up for a 2.4 block with dohc turbo 63 top end. (I'm thinking evo if evo has 6 then it's do able?)

I don't drive the 1/4 mile. I'll be doing a few passes when I get some mods on my car. But the 6 gear is more so gas efficiency.

Just stick with what you have. Cruise control will be your best friend. You have a N/T so your gas milage should be awesome anyways.

^^^^
Gas milage, higher final speed.

I'm not a "mr2" wanna be... Hence me actually purchasing a mr2, not turning my car into one cause I like it. Why are you so against 6 speed. It's pretty neat idea I think

You're shooting for 600hp and worried about gas mileage? LOL you're missing something man. :ohdamn:

Start by putting a turbo on the thing, or buying a gst or gsx, then learn as much as you can using the search function instead of cluttering up this forum with pointless things that only makes it harder to search through threads. And then if nothing came up, ask your questions.

There's no 6 speed adapters for our cars, and there's good reasons for it.

I heard the same thing about taller 5th gears to.

I also drive my cars 700 miles 1200ish one way trip twice each summer. I feel your pain. Coasting at 1800 rpm would be way nicer on gas

Correct. I have the entire evo3 cluster. Cruising at 70mph I sit around 2,800 RPM.
TRE did make a 5th that was slightly taller too IIRC.

I'd just go with a taller 5th gear, thats what most people do and it would be a lot cheaper than trying to coververt it to a 6 speed. I'd say even if they make a convertion its not worth it.

That's what i'll be doing when I rebuild my tranny. Double syncro's for 2nd and 3rd gears with an evo 3 5th gear so I can cruise.

Ya you guys convinced me. The reason why I didn't cave in right away is because I want to know all my options pros and cons. A sixth gear theoretically sounds better then a taller fifth because I can have a wider range of low-high Rpms to support different speeds depending on casual drives vs racing. The sixth for me was a "luxury option" in a fast car I guess. But being so Impractical I'll stick with stock until the time comes to change it. Then comes an evo swap.

Like stated before that 6th gear is unnecessary either way. There's no true racing application to it as you'll never peg out 5th in any LEGAL race, but glad to hear you've made up your mind.
