I really hate Chilton repair manuals. You cant find a thing your looking for.

Any one know if the gap is compression specific or not?

6 bolt w/ 2G pistons- plug gap 1G or 2G?

The gap should be the same 1g or 2g, they're both low comp engines with high boost.

I blew my head up and 2 pistons. So I have 2 1g and 2 2g in there, pumping 18 psi to them. Runs great with the, umm what is it .037 gap or there abouts.

Ya, I did a little more looking around and haven't seen a listing really for ether 1G or 2G; so I think your right, both are around the same... and you suggest .037.

Thanks,

I've never herd of someone running different pistons in the same engine till now. Have you seen this done before and thats way your running them or are you working your way up to a 2G set up one part at a time?

Thats one way to save some cash.

It looks like the book says .032, and that makes my plugs well under gapped @ .028ish.

18psi on .037" gap shouldn't have run very well. Might have had something to do with detonating your pistons. They should be gapped between .028"-.031". More boost should be closer to .028". And how the hell do you run 2 different pistons in a motor? You went through the effort of machining the rods to fit 2g pistons but only put 2 in? That is going to be impossible to tune having 2 different compression ratio's. In short your plugs gapped at .028" were perfect. What plugs are you running?

Just to avoid any confusion (straight out of the shop manual)...........

Even though there is a minor difference in the upper gap limit (0.001), the (accepted) gap for the 4G63 turbo is 0.028-0.031 as stated above, unless some serious modifications warrant otherwise.

Also as stated, NO "I guess", "I think" or "umm" type replies. Misinformation can cause a lot more problems than not replying at all.

Your joking right.........ROFL

I'm still baffled as to how you run 2 different compression pistons? Are you running VTEC on 2 cylinders and the turbo off the other?

Thats crazy, running two different compression pistons. That cant do any good.

It has to run like ass. Two cylinders build more pressure than the others so fire harder. So you get more power on 2 strokes than the other...I'm not ever gonna get into. It hurts my head.

That thing must run as about as good as a civic with turbo.

LOL LOL LOL. That would be so hard to tune also. A good tune would be impossible unless you adjust the injectors independently. Funny how ive seen turbo hondas slower than before the turbo. They never seem to tune they just through parts on.

More like impossible to tune. Your going to be doing all your compensation, and tuning with 2 cylenders, and then when comparing it to the difference of the other (2g or 1g) pistons, all of your measurements are going to be off. This kid is the Helen Keller of the DSM world. Sorry dude, I never tear on people but you should never have posted that. At least im im unsure about something, I confirm it through other sources and then make the correct post. If that dude takes your advice he is going to mess his motor up, and then if I was him, I would want to find out where you live.....
GG.
