Just swapped in a 6 bolt this past week. There were no leaks when running the car in the garage before driving it. I drove it home yesterday and too my surprise, oil everywhere. It was the VC gasket. When I took my VC off the head on my 7 bolt, the spark plug seals stuck to the head. When I put this VC on the 6 bolt, I never noticed there were no spark plug seals.

Fixed the VC today. Then just washed the engine but it was hard to see in the dark. I got the top half pretty clean, but couldn't get the bottom. Did all the spraying from the top of the engine bay.

I don't really seem to be losing much oil according to the dip stick. It has shown the same amount of oil all day.

I did, however, snap one of the bolts for the auto tensioner. It snapped off towards the end of the bolt. It was tight when it snapped. I probably over-did it.

I was thinking maybe I cracked the case. But I have done that before and oil didn't leak, it POURED out. This is just dripping.

I will let it dry over night and check it out in the morning. And I will make another video that shows the top of the engine as well instead of just the bottom.

Balance shafts are still in this, but as you can see, there is no belt. The motor came from my friends 1G. We actually didn't know the balance shaft belt was gone until we pulled the engine.

I will definitely be pulling the left front wheel off and removing the harmonic damper. I was take another video when I get everything off. I will clean some more nasty stuff off too.

But, your guess is the oil is leaking from the OFH or somewhere behind the damper?

Any concerns about the snapped auto tensioner bolt?

I am really hoping the leak isn't coming from either the bolt or from a crack. The snapped bolt will be fixed soon, but till then, I need to get to work to come up with the funds.

Here is the video. Think the front case could be cracked? Or is it just leaking from the bolt?

EDIT: I got the rest of the bolt out using left hand drill bits. Didn't have to remove the case either. So, tomorrow I will get some locktite and use it on those bolts. Maybe the case is cracked, but if not, my work is done here.
