6 bolt in a 2g swap

I don't know too much of the 7bolts but if you swap a 6bolt get everything for a 6bolt and I know the 7 bolt has a crank position sensor and the 6 has a cam angle so you would have to do something about that

This had been the way its been for nearly a decade, so it's safe to say that it has been covered before. Many, many times. :ohdamn:

The front cover from a 7 bolt won't fit the 6 bolt block, but why would it need changed anyway?

The CAS from the 6 bolt should be wired as shown in the link in order to provide the ECU an appropriate signal for both the 2G CAS and CPS inputs.

Back in the day when the dinosours roamed the earth, there was a method of doing the sixbolt sway that allowed you to keep the 7 bolt cam/crank sensors. It required some serious machining know-how as you had to machine the 7 bolt front case to mate to the 6bolt block. It worked, but was clearly too much work.

Well guys there is more than one way to skin a cat, and in this day and time there is more than one way to put a 6 bolt in a 2g.

You can either buy/make a Magnus/RRE Harness or

You can run the elantra 6-bolt front case that has provisions for the 2g style crank angle sensor. If you plan on running DSM-Link there is no reason to go through all the hassle of getting the parts to run the 2g crank sensor. You can simple click the ignore random misfire box in dsm link.
