is it worth my time to do a 6-bolt swap in my 2G GST?

well it depends on your power goals and what you want ot do with your car... i had a 95 gst with a 7 bolt made about 350 hp had a lot of fun with it..

right now i am building a 91 6bolt motor to race so it personal preference and how much money you have bro

personally i think its worth it...

glw everything

I think a 6 bolt swap is always worth it. gives you a little piece of mind and it can handle a fair bit more than the 7 bolt

im just saying, the only difference to seems like the 7 bolt gets crankwalk alot. but i never hear about a 6 bolt crankwalking. im only want about 320-340hp anyway. anything more and ill be spinning tires thru every gear. which is why i asked is the swap worth it.i know if i unplug the clutch switch, it will reduce the chance for crankwalk and also getting a clutch with no more than 2600lbs of clamping force will do the same.

There are mixed Opinions. 6bolts have stronger rods and lower compression as well. There are several 7bolt advocates out there. ALOT of people assume all 1gs are 7botls this is untrue as well. Alot of misinformation :|

6bolt 90-92.5
7bolt 93-99

As youll find alot of members have a 1g with a 7bolt and dont even realize it.

i didnt even know that myself. but thats good info. so a 6 bolt would be a better option because lower compression on boost = more power?
