I wanted to know,if anybody can explain to me things that would need to be replaced when coverting a 7 bolt to a 6 bolt, such as a ecu ,flywheel, etc.I plan to rebuild my engine but i dont know if is better to go with the 6 bolt.

6 bolt all day... just get a good short block and use everything else from the head up... its very staightforward.. you will also need the 6 bolt flywheel, clutch, and starter... and I am pretty sure you have to do a VERY SLIGHT machine job on the head to get the head bolts to fit... they are different sizes from the 6bolt and 7bolt...

plus, 6 bolt has bigger rods.. more power on the stock block

other than that, your good...

If you need more specific help, refer to this. I just got done doing the 6 bolt swap myself. Here is a link to the build. PM me if you have anymore questions

You DO NOT need a 6 bolt clutch and pressure plate, I used my ACT one from my 7 bolt. And you DO NOT need a 1g starter.

J4g63, you have already asked this question and it was deleted. You did not search. The reason why we know you did not search is because anything would have told you that you cannot convert a 7-bolt motor to a 6-bolt motor. You have to at least completely swap the blocks and crankshafts. If you are asking about the swap, everything could have been found by searching. Be more clear, as that is why your first thread was deleted; there is a large difference between a swap and a conversion. The two posters above you have provided you with great info.

damn.. I thought you had to use the starter and clutch in the swap.... o well.. rip on me... LOL...
