Is this pssible with a big 16g

What size injectors,
fuel pump
And would an ecm link be good for the job? Or could I get something smaller

Just wandering if that goal is possible off a 16g with 500$

LOL

No, you will need NOS, 2 of the big bottles.

On a serious note, check out the upgrade path, and somewhere on here you can see people's setups and how much HP they make off them.

You might be able to do 400 off a 16g for around 2500 with new parts or less with used parts. But I don't think anyone has pushed the 16g that far.

well if you put a hole lot of red performance stickers on your car it might add up to it.LOL

seriously do your self a favor and read up on your car, upgrade paths, and part capabilities. i dont know if you think power just stacks up but i do know you haven't bother to search b4 asking this question.:nono:

I think most people here are assuming this $500 is all that will go towards your performance upgrades, but your DSM info says you already have upgraded internals, and a 16g. I really haven't seen much of anything suggesting that 500hp is even attainable with a 16g, let alone on $500. Fuel injector size suggestions and actual data vary alot, but to push the 16g you would want at least a 190lph pump(250 will almost always require an AFPR) and at least 550cc injectors, but you might as well go 650 or higher so you more have than enough room for reliability concerns. And that is all assuming you actually have the upgraded internals, because if not, then 500hp would be too much for the stock internals to handle. $500 should be plenty for JUST injectors and a fuel pump, but 500hp is not what you should be aiming for with a 16g and a small budget.

You would need a miracle and a half to get 500 HP on of a 16G, it flows 44 lbs. a minute, which means it is good for about 380 whp on basic supporting mods on pump at 12:1 AFR. You will see in the low to low-mid 400s with all supporting mods and e85. Not to mention all the sites basically tell you the turbos potential so if you are going to overlook that, then you aren't ready for 500 whp.

I am still learning about the 4g63
My mod list is up to date

I should of not asked the question as 500$ for 500hp

More of a question is how much for 500hp and this is future plans but more of getting my facts straght so I don't go around talking out my a**.

But the nitrous is not a consideration,

And I'm talking about REAL SHOPPING for used parts nothing would be new.

And if hypothetically I ever actually did run this set up it wouldent have to be more reliable then a dyno pull.

Sorry for not looking into this topic much before posting but will do some reading,
And on another thought how much hp are 4g63 interals good to I remeber reading that volvo (red brick engines) internals are good to 450

Won't be able to happen unless you're getting freebee's. You can make 500 on a stock block.. However you may need to build the head a little. All can be done with a few grand.

That's a great link thanks.

Could anyone give me the limits of the turbo's link?
(I found it once but don't remeber ill search right now but thought might as well throw it in the post jut incase I can't find)

And if 650's is all I would need for 500hp what are the people using 1000+ injectors got put into their set-up

Why would you want only used parts? When in the 500hp range u less you have a semi decent build you are going to break things. While the stock motor is good for around 450 it doesn't mean your high mileage internals and other parts are. Why upgrade worn out parts with "better" worn out parts. You may as well buy new QUALITY parts now, than buying used, blowing up your motor and having to pay for rebuild anyways...by all means u can score good used turbos, intercoolers, bov, injectors ect, but defiantly don't cheap out on important stuff. I would personally spend $500 towards getting ecmlink and using that as my starting point in tuning and go from there with build up.

Turbo efficiency charts mean nothing. Injectors go hand to hand with what type of fuel you will be running. $650 dollars will be very hard to meet your goal, but can be done. It may take you quite some time to found the pieces at the right price though.

I don't see that much power for 500.00. The machine work to get you there will be more than that. If you read DSM03's post above it tells you $1.00= 1hp. If that were true, my car would be making about 5000 hp.

It's different for almost every car with the most important factor being the the tune. If a car runs E85 it will bump your cc requirements up alot, if you are using c16 just for one dyno pull its a whole different story. Alot of people get bigger injectors because the pricing isn't all that different per size and its better to be safe than sorry. Some people just want what they need, or perhaps they are only tuning with a SAFC(SAFCs only handle up to 650s very well). It's not that 650's would get you to 500, just that they would be enough to support the 16g at the higher end of its efficiency range. I'm no expert I just do extensive research on this site, and 650's have taken some to 400+ and others to less than 350 at more psi. If you want to push 500 out of a 16g, you will have to do a good deal of trial and error to get your individual car's needs satisfied, and trial and error is not something you can afford with $500. 300-400 is what the 16g is for.

Here is an excellent post by Gofer, a DSMtuners Wiseman
Injectors
Lets say your 16g pushes about 38 lbs/min on 20psi, that means your going to want to find an injector that can keep up with that amount of air going into the motor. Typically most tuners shoot for 80% IDC's (injector duty cycle) when the turbos pushing its max airflow, that way you get some wiggle room. With that being said 660cc injectors would be your best bet.

650cc @ 100% IDC will support 46.66lbs/min
650cc @ 80% IDC will support 37.32lbs/min

Fuel Pump
Your 16g is pushing 38 lbs/min on 20psi and you've got the injector to support the airflow, now you need a fuel pump that can get the fuel to the injectors. Looking at the numbers you posted/found from the Tech Articles you'll see a Walbro 190 would be enough for that setup without a rewire...

20psi = 38.62lbs/min

But you'd be working that pump really hard and look how much more you can get out of it just by rewiring running the same boost and pushing the same amount of air...

20psi = 51.70lbs/min

E85 in the future?
E85 is a different animal and if you ever plan on running it you'd be better off buying the fuel system that can support it now so when you decide to make the switch your not buying everything all over again! Picking the fuel pump is easy, you'll want the biggest Walbro you can buy, the 255 HP. If you stick to the 16g and want to run E85 then you'll have to do some math, the 38 lbs/min on 20psi remains the same since your turbo doesn't change. Injectors are flow tested on gasoline which has a gas ratio of 1.00 so to find the flow of a 660cc injector on gasoline you'd take 660 x 1.00 = 660, easy enough. E85 has a gas ratio of 0.67 though so the amount an injector can flow E85 is a lot different, it looks like this 660 x 0.67 = 442. What that means is on E85 a 660cc injector will flow like a 442cc injector which is WAY too small to support a turbo thats flowing 38 lbs/min.

450cc @ 100% IDC will support 32.30lbs/min
450cc @ 80% IDC will support 25.84lbs/min

The smallest injector you'd want to run on E85 would be a 950cc injector since your 16g can flow 38 lbs/min, just do the math. 950 x 0.67 = 636.5.

650cc @ 100% IDC will support 46.66lbs/min
650cc @ 80% IDC will support 37.32lbs/min
