Ohh I was under the impression I would want to have it glossy buffed and then the clear gets sprayed on right over that....Your saying that just wetsanded and not buffed will turnout like that with clear?
I guess that makes sense judging by the results from just a thin coating of water.Thank you
Yeah, the clear is the gloss, not just a protective coat. Without a scratch the clear will not properly adhear to the color. What are you sanding with (grit wise)??? I'd probably finish it with 800 or 1000 and your ready for clear. I'd also use try and find a clear that is made out of the same material as the color, ya know something compatable to topcoat with. I wouldn't have the shop spray a urethane clear over it. It may be ok, or it may lift, I wouldn't want to take that chance and have however many hours down the drain.
...and the engine bay should look sweet when you're done undercoating it..dont forget to take pics. ill post mine up as soon as i can.
