Hey guys I'm in the process of building a turbo DOHC 4g64. The engine I'm using developed rod knock due to oil starvation. I've read that its a common problem on high speed right hand turns due to Evos being transversal. My engine is mounted north to south however so I experienced it on a high speed straight. My question is what can I do to prevent this from happening again? I've heard crank scrapers, better oil pickup and baffled pans. I don't know which route to take

There should actually be a guy in Australia who modifies 4G63/4G64 oil pans. He gives them a deeper sump and has baffles welded in. That's your answer is baffles to keep the oil in the pickup.

Would you have any information on him? If i cant buy the solution i should be able to make it myself if i have an idea what to do.

Accumulator or dry sump? Dry sump system would cost really much but accumulator wouldn't cost that much, maybe it would cost even less than going with a custom oil pan. I don't know what your usage of the car is but maybe it's worth to consider.

Accumulator, havent heard of it ill definitely look into it. This is just a light street build 300hp max. Everyone in other threads is saying thats its unnecessary but i believe the talons ands eclipses engine are mounted transversal while mine isnt which changes how the problem occurs.

This is just my opinion, if the car is only for street, with some oil pickup modification may be fine. But this kind of things are like insurance, it won't bother you even you have it and good for peace of mind, so why not if the budget would allow you?
Oil pickup or oil pan baffle should be more or less designed to cover for your specific use of car, but the accumulator would work with your oil pressure, so it should be able to cover many situations unless the period of oil starvation is prolonged that exceeds the accumulator's oil capacity.
