4g63 is a 2.0; very robust engine. Supposedly holds 450 to 550 horses on the bottom end. I dont think they ever made it in a 2.3, unless you bored it out yourself. Dont know much about the 4g64 though. So Im partial to the 4g63 its treated me well. Knock on wood.

IMO the 4g64 is the better option. You can buy a 64 short block for around $300. Then you can have the bottom end ready to drop in when you do the swap. Of course you will have to mount the head and everything with that. But for me it was cheaper and a lot less downtime when I do the swap. Plus I still have a good short block to do want ever I want to with, save it for a spare, sell as is, or rebuild it and sell it.

If you go the 2.3l stroker you are going to have to find a crank, and then either rebuild your current motor and find a 63 block. It depends on where you live but in alot of places you can't get get a 63 block less than $300.

actualy i was going to buy one from SBR. so you are saying it would be much cheaper that way. I've never done any engine work before, is it going to be hard to build own 64 block ???
