will 4g64 or 4g63 fit in 97+mirage

i want to get a 97-01 mirage but only if i can put a 4g64 in it with a 4g63 turbo head and all that, prtty much a gallant/spyder 2.4 turbo swap

did'nt the 97+'s get a neon based motor? with the cam gears on the otherside? or does it resemble the 4g63?

well this all comes from me hearing that u can put a 2.4 gallant motor in a 1.8 mirage 97-01, they look close to the same, but in the real dsm world that means nothing, i just want to know if it is a biatch of a swap

if you put a 4g63 motor in a Mirage you have a Evo w/o the AWD drive option and a GREAT SLEEPER

The Galant/Eclipse 2.4 4G64 youve been hearing about puting in your 96+ Mirage is from the 99+ Galant or 00+ Eclipse.

The orientation of the engine is different from DSM's (our 4G63 is on the drivers side, the Mirage is on the passengers side). This means that a DSM engine or head will not work for your application without major modification.

What you can do is etheir swap a 4G64 from 99+ Galant/00+ Eclipse and put the Lancer Evo IV+ head on to make it DOHC, or just swap in a Lancer Evo IV+ 4G63 all together.

If u wish to put a DSM engine in a Mirage, get a 95 or older Mirage.

i like the 97-01 body, and i herd about putting a SCoupe turbo mani and other stuff on them as a direct swap, but i like the 4g64 better
