Hello everyone, I am the proud new owner of this 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage! It is 4g swapped, semi built, has a fuel cell & dual pumps, on fuel tech 450, and not my build!!
I’ve been on the website awhile I’ve messed with dsmlink on various dsms I’ve had way back, recently I’ve owned a few evos, I can work my way around evoscan and it’s running software but I’ve never messed with anything like this fuel tech before! However, I’m not so much worried about the fuel tech I can work with them online and figure out what I need or find a reputable tuner.
What I’m needing help with is the dsmtuners community! Is there anyone who possibly knows the original builder of this car? Is there anything I need to look for and be mindful of? Make sure something is done correctly with this 4g swap?
Yadda yadda. I just wanted to come back to the community and seek the gurus advice I plan to clean this up continue its beautiful build. Along with some fresh paint that is needed badly!
From what I was told it’s on 2200cc injectors that are pretty old and probably need replacing. I was told it’s a 64 bottom with a built 7 bolt head. I’m not a mad scientists is this a 2.1L? Sorry for being a 10year noob haha I’ve been driving and evo’s for the last 8 years, been a while since I was messing with dsms. Glad to be back!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I’m 99% sure there is no airflow sensor, it’s definitely not on the stock maf as you can see, but iiiiii don’t see a speed density setup anywhere either, am I missing something here? It doesn’t run well AT ALL won’t start on its own, the guy I bought it from had one of the two fuel pumps off via the relay. When you do get it started (with a lot of starting fluid and level ground because the fuel pumps are level with the tank…
) it runs terribly rich and just awful! I haven’t had time to touch anything on the car I just purchased it I plan to tear it somewhat apart, make sure the timing is correct look inside the head, reset fuel pressure regulator, clean all of the many many grounds grounded to a recently repainted engine bay.. and whatever else I see. But with my schedule that will be in due time.
Thanks!
Bryan
