I bought a 420a manual 98 Talon that can be started with button or key a few months ago. Started and drove fine since i bought it. Drove it hard very briefly and after parking the car, I went to start it and it would click but not turn over. Started and ran fine by pushing the car. The next day put a bunch of new parts on the car, including a new starter. Still wouldnt start by button or key. With all the new parts the car runs really well, but now bounces back and fourth between being able to start it by key or button, only key, only button, and now currently back to not at all unless i push it.
Besides rust and sloppy wiring, the car is clean and even cleaner internally. The wiring to the push button start doesn't look bad and isnt loose. A lot of work and nice parts were put in by the previous owner. Im guessing the starting issue is something the previous owner delt with, because of the push button being installed. I'm unsure and was hoping someone may have some idea as to what the issue could be.
