After running 8.39 on a Forced Performance HD3582 (their low budget 35R variant) at the shootout last year, I decided to try some other turbos in this size range. Over the winter I switched to an older FP 3586HTA that I borrowed from a friend. That went 5.12 and 7.99 for ET with a 100 shot in Tulsa, which I was pretty happy with. After running that for a while through the spring and summer I decided to try a Forced Performance/Xona Rotor 62mm and see how much better that does. Pretty quickly it ran a 4.96 at 137 in the eighth at ORP in Missouri . I haven't run it quarter mile yet but it should be 7.80s or better on a 4.96. Back pressure is really low on the UHF turbine wheel, emap:imap is around 1.2:1 at full tilt. I then took it to a local dyno day and ran it on a Mainline Pro Hub 3000. It made 813 hp with no nitrous, and 948 hp with the 100 shot. I've learned a lot this year messing with the small turbos, as I always do. Always a good time. Car is ~2400 lbs race weight in this trim. I'm looking forward to running it this way at the Shootout to see what it will do quarter mile in decent air.

That is WHY you are my tuner, we just never got done due to a transmission failure. I have the journal bearing unit and was going to break open the wallet and get that ball bearing turbo.....but....my HX40 does real good. I was thinking that the BB turbo 3982 might spool sooner is the reason it came into mind. Thanks for your help in the past and good luck in the future. I am about 3 to 4 hours away from you in Southeast KS. We visit MoKan for test and tune but soon to run in there 13.xx class with my sons Camaro. I think a good tune on my DSM would sit me solid in the 10s. I will get back in touch when the car is ready after the first of the year KJ (and hope you are still tuning). 👍

I do test there occasionally, though less now that I was hired back as general manager of ORP. But hopefully I see you guys out there some day!

You WILL and it will be a great meeting Kevin. I'll stay in touch.
