i have an auto 99 gsx, this is my second auto build but im doing it better this time, i herd you can put a 3g eclipse a/t shiftier set up into the 2g, i would like to do this so i can use my shift box from ipt with the slap shiftier on the 3g shiftier? okay here is the problem i cant find sh*t on this anywhere can someone help me!!!

I can't say for sure that it would or wouldn't work, but I would assume, that if you have a shifter with the slap shift manual mode, asong as you hav the proper transmission, shift ,able, and TCU, why wouldn't it work?

Yes, you can do it. Three of the bolts line up with the 2G DSM bolt holes, but it puts it pretty far forward. I can't remember off hand what color the two wires are that you need for the shift-box, but it should take all of a few seconds with a test-light, to find them. It does bolt in, it does work beautifully too. :)

Hop on Facebook, join a group called Mature DSM'ers, and post that question there. There's a guy there that pioneered this setup, and is more than willing to talk about it and post pictures. I'm not a member there anymore, but it's a good group.

i just send a request to join hopefully someone can help me there

In fact, I picked up a 3g shifter today at the junkyard along with a bunch of other crap.

Does your shift box shut down the TCU when activated? And would you be able to switch between manual and automatic modes while driving?
According to the link I posted above, it should. Instead of using the forced 4 toggle switch, the shifter acts as the switch. when in D, the TCU gets power, when moved to tiptronic, the shift box is powered.

I did read the how to. Thanks. Just wondering if you ever put the plastics back in and how it looked

i did put the center back on after i was done and there was a small gap around that could of been filled in with plastic or wood, but i never put the center back in after that LOL, but if i have time today ill slap it back on and take a quick picture

I will be doing this as well. I actually just spent the last hour or so cleaning it and took it all apart and cleaned it throughly and then sanded, painted and cleared. I'm happy with the finished product. I haven't installed it into the car yet but will be doing so hopefully by the end of the week or weekend. I have some start to finish pictures and already it looks better LOL.

Any pics ?

Any pictures on a 1g or 2g with it full installed? Did your shift box come with wiring info to wire it to a 3g shifter?

no wiring info from the makers of the shift box to wire it up to a 3g shifter, there are 2 wires that produce ground when the tip-tonic is activated.
