I installed bc 272s and bc valve springs and retainers and the 3g lifters. After about 1000 miles it seems that 1 or more of the lifters are making alot of noise at idle and till about 3 to 3500 rpms then it goes away. As soon as the rpms drop it comes right back though.

What are my options at the point how can i check them without removing the cams again or could it be a more serious issue.
If it helps i dont rev past 7500 rpms. Thanks in advance guys.

So i started to take the valve cover off to inspect the lifters but after i pulled the cam gear cover, I didnt have to look any further the timing belt is vey loose and was slapping the cover causing my noise. Now my ? is that I just replaced everthing 1000 miles ago hks timing belt and bb belt all new oem mitsu. pulleys and tensioners. Can i just re tension the belt and be okor should i replacethe belt now.

I would just re time it. When you put the belt on, did you loop it from the cam gears down to the oil pump, crank, and then to the tensioner? I do know if you loop to the tensioner first then you will have slack in the belt.

I did it properly i didnt have slack in the belt when i checked it about 250 miles ago so its a new issue that recently came about. But thanks for the concern.

The hks belt are very strong and can be taken off and re used many times. I've seen this many times at the strip after some issues arised! Great belts.

You better check everything inside aswell just in case its skipped a few teeth then re do and double check the tensioner is tight as that's what might have come loose! Last this you want is its knocked the valve slightly. hope you sort it bro
