years ago when my moms boyfriend owned the talon a local performance shop said they can do 600hp for 6000$.

Think about durability. A 350-400 w.h.p. DSM with no tranny or engine work isn't exactly reliable. This is why you will be building the car twice, once the cheap way, then the 2nd the right way.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with 'over' building if you have the funds to do so. If you're attempting to build once, and don't care about the money then I say go for it!

You don't have to spend 5-8k just to make 350whp on a 16g though.

Your wrong! The stock automatic transmission can easily hold that. And have you been seeing what people are doing with the stock block? Go read some faqs please before giving bad advice.

Nobody is saying it can't be done, but realistically can't we conclude the car will be significantly less reliable on your average 100k+ mile stock bottom end?

Depends on how well the motor was maintained before hand. Its easily achievable.

I'm not seeing this on their site. Do you have a link?

ill be getting these soon also

get an aem uego wideband and a boost controller then get an oil pressure gauge that is not mechanical but electrical

why... mecanical fluid and air gauges are more accurate..

and a forged crank is not cheap or neccessary for OPs build.... AT ALL....and 500 hp wasnt in the title bud... and even if you were trying to make 500hp why the hell would you want a 20g... why not a gt35r?

Making 300whp at 19-20psi with just small 16g 550cc injectors and 255 fuel pump.Everything else stock so that should give you an idea how to get 350whp, and I have only spend like $500 I mean I do have a full 3 inch exhaust and fmic so can add another like $400, but I am sure this will give you an idea it's not that hard. There are so many people that ask the same question and they over kill it.Check drag times and search to you will find alot of info on how to make this power range it really is not that hard.Anything bigger then a 16g is more exspensive imo but do get a solid 350whp on pump gas you may need a little more then what the 16g will put out.You can probably make 350whp with E85 or race gas.You will be pushing the 16g hard on pump gas and probably not get like 300-300 with 272 cams.

The O.P. has a 5-speed. I have broken a stock automatic DSM tranny, they ain't that strong. Haven't seen other people's stock blocks, I run my own.

I've read the faqs, thanks though.

engine build seems nice.. but looks like your cheaping out on your turbo and fuel..

why do such a dramatic build if your just gonna run the 16g.. your better off with your stock 7bolt and some arp head studs.

look at my parts list now... jerk:sneaky:

So your mod list changed over the last six months?

Im missing the point? you realize your goals where easier with a larger turbo?

So you said your gonna make x amount of power with a turbo that you no longer have? So did you?

Not sure how Im jerk or what the point was to respond six months later but I stand by what I said....

i said i was planning to make 400 hp and you said i didnt have the list or parts to support that. it was a scarcastic comment; hence the "sneaky" emoticon. what im saying now is.. yes i do have those... jerk ;)

Usually best to say your making X amount of HP After you do... .Otherwise it's just bench racing... More so when you don't even have said Hp making parts on your car.

All then your missing is a up to date life insurance policy and updated will =). Wow how fast do you need to go to the store for milk nowadays.....I believe 9 seconds should be fast enough don't ya think.

im gonna be making 400awhp with my Evo3 16g and a good tune

Big diffance between Planning on and Gonna Be... .

I think you missed the whole point.

I didn't care and don't care if the parts where or are or are not still...

Hence the bench racing comment:thumb:

But whatever... . :idontknow:
