So i have an intermitant clutch problem with my 96 eclipse rs. once in a while almost daily, my clutch will not disengage so i can put it in gear. it locks me out of all gears. thinking it might me a linkage problem i tried starting it in first gear with the clutch pedal down and i took off. I had a friend press the clutch while i watched the slave cylinder and it is moving full travel. I forget the name of the tool my friend used but he had a camera on the end of a tube with a light to look inside of my tranny housing through the slave cylinder boot on the transmission and it all looked normal from what he could see. clutch looked to be in good condition but visability was limited. i had a new clutch and transmission in about a year ago and it has worked fine until now. Any help would be very apreciated.

so clutch wont disengage. most likely it's either a hydraulic issue or the clutch it self is worn out. what kind of clutch did you put in it and how long did you break it in?
I have had this problem before it usually came down to the clutch being poor quality. But have had a bad air pocket in the system too. did you bench bleed the new master before putting it in?

i bled everything i know there isnt an air pocket. im not sure what brand was put in for the clutch but i know that it was stage 2 ated to 450 hp.

i was messing arund with it today and when i was pushing the clutch pedal in and out i herd a small sliding noise folowed by a clunk. then magicly the clutch worked for a couple of hours before it did the same thing again. i dont know mutch about clutches but it sounds like something was stuck and just let go because i was pumping the pedal. any ideas of what i herd?
