420A 2GNT Manual Transmission fluid

Ok, so ive been reading the threads, and ive been getting confused because people who dont know about the 420A are replying and saying to get different fluid but some say it doesnt work. and i see that it says get the ATF+4 Transmission fluid for my 420A 5 speed. Im not sure if this works or not but theres some fluid in autozone that says its the ATF+4, its valvoline and its $5 per quart. Do i need to go to the dealership to get it or can i just buy it at autozone? And which one is the most long lasting?

any transmission fluid marked ATF +4 will be fine. brand doesn't matter. it's up to your preference.

i know some manual trannys use ATF but i would call the dealer or look at a service manual just to be safe because if its not supoused to have ATF you will be rebuilding ## tranny

I wouldn't say best bang for your buck, for i believe its more expensive that the recommended ATF, but I personally love the stuff.

ATF+4 us the way to go for this particular transmission. It has a 'paper' backed syncro and anything else will wear it out prematurely.

I only run the Mopar fluid.
You can pick up from the dealer.
I'll never use the ATF again, after my last trannsmission blew up.

Post # 28 ATF is a ALTERNATIVE to the OEM fluid.
