Spray your tail lights with red stained glass paint. Altezzas "redded out" look awesome.

http://www.misterart.com/store/view.cfm?store=003&group_id=9082&WT.mc_id=froogle&WT.srch=1

you should cut out the mouth guard too...! maybe tint the side windows?

Its came a ways from when you got it, Keep up the good work!

btw, whats up with that black one beside it? it looks nice

Thanks for the comments! A Front mount is in the future for me when I put on my 16g so I will end up cutting the mouth gaurd.

Ive always wanted to spray it red like your talking about, ive seen it done it looks damn nice, would you know whosells that kind of spray at stores? And also would I need to prep the tail lights first, like sanding?

The black one is my old 95 gs, the first pic is like the day I got my gsx and still had the gs, when I bought that car the guy before me had already put on new headlights, front bumper and spoiler, I really liked that car, I wanted to keep it as a nice daily driver but I couldnt afford the insurance of two cars (on my own policy).

they sell the red spray at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. any craft store should carry it

Looks good man! Are you planning on getting skirts for it? And when you took the little side fins of your 3 peice spoiler were there any holes you had to fill in, i was thinking of doing this conversion on my gs. And anybody know if a black of the same glass spray would give the nightshades look? Srry to change the topic but i've looked for nightshades at a few different auto parts stores and none of them have it and most haven't evan heard of it. Nice lookin car though bud.

Do I need to sand down the tail lights first? And if so with what grit sandpaper? And yes there about 9 holes to fill when you take the old spoiler off, I havent down that yet, just looks like it in the pics, and yeah im looking for the side skirts, but the two expensive to buy new some im waiting for some to pop up on ebay or classfieds

Thats coming together nicely man. I'm also doing the 97-99 body change on my 97 talon. I had a tough time finding a rear bumper but its coming. Looks great though man, if you find 2 sets of side skirts let me know! Good luck with your future modificiations.

i like it man i want to do the same in the future but my car has to running in tip top shape before this happens

front bumper cover 40$ from same Illinois based company
2gen halo projectors 80$ from chong chang china :)
just need the fog light bezels and im good to go!

I had trouble mounting the 2gb foglights, does any one know where they bolt up?
I tried my 95 foglight location but the 2gb fog ended up behind the bumper.
I think i figured out a place to mount it but i am not sure ( I dont have the fog light covers to see if they are lined up correctly) But they are in the right "holes" on the bumper.

Does any one have a picture of where they are supposed to be mounted?

Thanks.

I have both of the bumpers, side skirts, and headlights and i was wondering if any one could give me a good how to link or something so i can do it so i don't have to pay to get it done.

Its not that hard sence you have a 96 eclipse, every thing is unbolt/bolt back up,

Only problems i had was getting the fogs to line up and making the bumper bracket (because the talons is diffrent)

Yours should be quick. and when your done, mmmm 2gb :thumb:

Okay, i've read through this and I still have not found an answer to a question.

So it's fine to ditch the air-duct for the intercooler right?

What about the center air dam? Sould I get that too? Or is it uneccesary? If it is not needed, would it look weird to not have it? I just noticed it on another eclipse here at my school, and it seems like it would look rather empty in the center if it were not there.

Any help is appreciated, as my bumper and lights are on their way now. I want to know if I should get the air dam too

I still have mine in there, till i get a FMIC then the center airdam as you call it will be gone. Id grab one to fill the void, but thats totaly up to you. congrats on the swap :thumb:

edit:

Yeah the air-duct for the SMIC I got rid of.

Okay, I think I found some pictures to help show what i mean. Maybe I should get the center airdam, unless the 95-96 is the same? Or will fit?

This would be the look without the center air dam

Oh and grimis (or anyone), do you know where to find the mount thing for the fog lights? The links in previous pages are dead, and I don't know exactly what to look for.... Also, if I don't get the fogs now, would I have to take the bumper off to put them in? Or is it easy like the fogs are for the 95-96? Thanks!

If i remember correct, the 97+ fogs have there own bracket built into the housing. There is a spot on the frame where the old 95's where, you will see when youline up the holes.

If you got fogs with out the brakets , I would call a local junk/salvage yard for them.

here is before the bumper and if you look at the secound thats what my fogs look like, not a close up but you see the bracket on them.

I haven't bought anything for fogs yet.

EDIT: after seeing last post, i'm talking about these plastic pieces that fill the holes of the bumper.

ahh yeah, them , the fog light covers, Id say ether dealer or a junk/salvage yard for thouse, i was lucky i got them with my bumper.

Here in Spain (Europe) is more difficult find used parts for my eclipse, a woman crashed me rear two years ago and i fit the 97-99 rear bumper through dealer shop, but used is almost impossible, i won an auction in ebay from USA for side skirts (2 parts only, the biggest)80 bucks, the turbo wing i won in Germany for 110 euros (130$), now i´m searching the headlights for good price along the world, but is very hard to find. Sorry for my bad english. Greetings from here!! :D

Hey all, just thought I'd share some before and after pictures. For starters, let me say sorry that I only have night pictures of the car right now. I will update this post tomorrow or Sunday with some pictures of the car in the daytime.

So, it began with the old bumper, which I really did not mind. I loved the gray trim, and the talon fogs (which are 10x better than the Eclipse fogs for the same year). It's not a bad look at all in my opinion, but it doesn't make the same statement as the 2Gb face does.

After I bought the car in May, I did want to do a 2Gb conversion eventually. However, reason and money evaded me, so I did not worry about it. Then it got remote started in 1st gear several weeks ago, and then again the next day. (NOT my fault. I did not drive it last nor was I the one to remote start it, :) Neither event did good things for the car, LOL. But this did not turn at all bad. Here are some small pictures of only half of the damage so get the idea... there's a gaping hole on the driver's side that the pictures don't show, and the hood was also damaged.

So, I ordered some Ebay projectors and a bumper from Pershing Auto, again on Ebay. The lights arrived quickly but the bumper took it's sweet time getting here. In the meantime, however, that let me contemplate what how I wanted to paint the bumper. I knew since the first time I thought about 2Gb that I was going to keep the gray trim. And, thanks to grayforestgst's car, I was able to see a car that was exactly how I wanted mine. I played with some other ideas in my head and on my PC, but ended up going all white with the gray trim. Just got it from the body shop yesterday, painted and ready to put together. Had a friend come over and help out.

Again, sorry for night time pictures. More to come soon.

The job is not 100% done yet. There are still a few fitment issues with the lights, bumper and hood (icky right now) that I need to work out. Also, the Ebay projectors did not plug right in. We ended up hardwiring them and only had time tonight to finish the low-beams. We still need to do the hi-beams as well as the halos. I also need new orange bulbs for the corners.... Then, sometime soon when we both get time to meet up, I'm stealing Don's fog lights off of him.

So, more work is still ahead, but I'm definitely happy with the way it turned out. Now I just need a FMIC...
