Indeed, they are talking about in the center opening where an intercooler would go, there is a textured black trim on the uppermost part of the opening. Most cut it off to allow more flow to the IC, and just because it looks better without it there.

I have a Johnny Race Car FMIC, the 8" model, so if I were to cut off that lip would the intercooler still fill out the bumper nicely? I don't want to cut off the lip and find out that the top of my intercooler is visible.

You might rather leave the 'lip' intact, and do a dry fit for the bumper first, and then go from there. Is the intercooler on the car already or not? Cause then you could just dry fit it all off of the car.

I think either way it would look better with the lip removed.
I'm still drooling over the two toned paint job. Ive never seen it before and now all the sudden i want a 2g

The FMIC has been on the car for awhile now, and my car is in the shop so I can't really fit it up right now. I was just curious if anyone else with a Johnny Race Car FMIC has cut that lip off. Let's say I want to leave the lip on, should I paint it some kind of matte black? What does everyone else think of that two tone paint job? Thats the kind I have right now, but I was thinking about painting all of the other pieces solid red to match, as opposed to painting the 97-99 two tone. Who else likes/doesnt like the two tone 97-99?

As I stated before, personally, I like the 2 tone like on Greyforests, better than a single!..As long as you don't go with like a Orange car, and a blue stripe like that..Gotta keep it classy :thumb:

I'm going to be doing this same thing on my 95 durango copper GST. I'm putting a 97-99 bumper on the front and keeping the grey stripe. Im glad i got to see it done before i did it. Looks good IMO. :dsm:

Hey, what exactly do I need to fill those foglight holes? I'm not sure if I'm going to put foglights in but I'd like to at least put in the "bezel" part... Does anyone know the name and where I can get them?

Alright, before I start, please remember it's called NEWBIE FORUM for a reason and so I appreciate you taking the second to read this. Also, yes I have searched this site high and low for the answer and cannot seem to find all the answers I am looking for.

I am replacing my 95 bumper with a 97 bumper for obvious reasons (it's hott). I know my headlights and sidelights will fit perfectly but here are my questions... please note, I am not doing the install. The reason I am even upgrading is because I hit a deer and so insurance is covering it all. NO, I do not want to do it because there is a lot more damage done than just the bumper. So, as I said, note that I am not doing the work so I want to make sure the bumper and crap match up perfect so the body shop doesn't but a nut.

- What do I need to buy other than the bumper to make it work? Anything?
- What about the fog lights? Do I need special wiring? Casing?

Anything else I am missing?

Here is the listing on eBay, would this be what I should get? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-9...ewItemQQcategoryZ33640QQitemZ8006116358QQrdZ1

What about fog lights? I didn't see the stock lights on eBay. Also, can I get xenon lights for those fog lights?

THANK YOU. I know that's a lot of useless text to get out my questions but yeah...

Your headlights will work with the bumper but they will not fit perfectly, there will be a small gap...for the perfect fit, you need 97-99 eclipse headlights.

No, your headlights will not work at all. There will not be a gap, that happens if you put 97-99 headlights with a 95-96 bumper. Your headlights will extend too far into the bumper cover, and it will not fit correctly. Your 95-96 foglights will be different that the 97-99 foglights also. So, you should need 97-99 headlights, and foglights if you want those.

Thanx for correcting me, i got confused...

Basically everything is a bolt on procedure. No rewiring of the headlights needed, I'm not sure about the foglights though.

well i was looking at some talons with the 99 eclipse front bumper and man they look good on the 95 tsi's. But yea anyways i don't really like the stock bumper of a 95 talon so imma switch too a 99 clipse front bumper.. just wondering what i'am suppose too change... like the headlights,foglights... anything else?

You'll need the bumper cover, 97-99 headlights and foglights if you wish to use them. Everything bolts up the same way and there is no modifying anything.

Someone needs to sticky one of these conversion threads...there are about 4 of them on this page, why didn't you search?

Ok heres my question about the converstion, i have a friend who has a 96 GS, he got hit in the rear, distroyed the OEM bumper, he put a 98 Blitz rear bumper on, but on one side there is a massive gap. will this happen with the stock bumper swap, or would it just be because he got hit and bent something maybe

That's probably because he bought the jankiest blitz rear ever.

If the conversion is done even somewhat nicely it will look like it came that way from the factory. Check out my gallery if you doubt it.

Hey guys, just thought I would post some pictures of my progress on my 95 gsx.

Im converting it to the 2gb syle. So Far I have the turbo spoiler, front bumper, rear bumper, and head lights. All i really have left to do is the side skirts.

Just to let you know all parts have been bought of ebay, and they all fit PERFECT. The spoiler is off another red eclipse, but the front an rear bumper, and the head lights are ebay specials, and i'm very happy with them. I had the front and rear bumper just painted. AND PLEASE no comments about my wheel gap or the euros, springs are my next project, and the euros where on the car when I bought it. I also have new side markers coming, and am looking for a deal on some 2gb fogs.

Oh yea and yes it was raining out when I took the pics.

When I first bought the car (next to my 95 GS)
