As for the ebay "aftermarket OEM" bumpers. everyone says they are the same minus the emblem. but is it me or does the very right and left side vents look different (compare the white one to the one above it)

Its because of the camera..its pretty dark so the vents on mine look bigger than his.

Im kinda worried right now 'cause i just spent a bunch of money on some 95-96 door caps 'cause i thought they were exactly the same as the 97-99, and im moving to the 97-99 side skirts.. i haven't seen them on the car painted yet, but i will monday..

I seriously thought that the 95-96 door cap was exactly the same as the 97... someone please tell me they're the same and its not gonna look ridiculous.......

They arent the same but it shouldnt look that bad. It just has a different curve to it and is a little taller I believe but I doubt most people will notice.

I bought both the door caps and the fog light bezels from the dealership. The door caps were overpriced ($68 per I think) but it was the last piece I needed and I was just trying to get it done. The bezels were about $15 each I believe but my dealer is overpriced anyways. The main problem is those d@mn little clips used to attach the sideskirts. Ive heard of people modifying some autozone ones to fit but I just bought mine from SATAN and those got expensive fast since they only sell them in bags of two and they charge per clip. There are 2 types of clip you need. One is a round one used all along the door and the other is a fat square one used along the bottom of the car that the bottom screws go into but these can probably be reused. I broke half of the round ones taking everything off but I just replaced every clip to make sure nothing would pop off.

As for the bumper, I think got mine from aemporium.com if I remember correctly and it has the shaved Diamond Star. It was $100 shipped so I was expecting to be disappointed with the quality but overll it wasnt too bad. However, when you are attaching the sides of it, in the wheel well, there are 3 little tabs on the bumper that the screw clips go into. The werent drilled on my bumper and they didnt line up to well. Best thing to do is wait until its on the car, then have somone line up the bottom tab and drill through the clip hole in the wheel well and shove a clip in there. Then do the middle one the same way. I dont think I was able to line up the last whole but it was so stiff from the first too that it doesnt even need it. I recommend the OEM bumper if you have a little extra money to spend but I personally wanted the cleaner look of the shaved emblem.

Sideskirts are the most difficult piece to find. I think the dealer charges something like $600 for the two lower pieces so getting them used is the best bet. I waited months before some came along on eBay and I payed $210 for two lower pieces and they were black (my car is silver).

The rear bumper was about $250 on eBay and was dark blue. Best to get all the parts prepainted and then put them on but I went the cheap route and just got the whole car painted for $850 including door jams, under hood, in the hatch. I dont like cheap paint jobs but overall this wasnt bad but I plan to get it completely redone in a few years anyway so I just wanted to get the car looking good.

If I was going to do it over again, the only thing I would have changed was my headlight choice. I went with chrome projectors because they were the first piece I bought and they looked better in my head than they do on the car. THey dont look bad but it looks a little off. I would go with stock OEM 97-99 headlights on a light colored car.

front bumper-100 bucks already mitsu black
rear bumper-60 bucks from a local kid
side skirts(no door caps)-40 bucks from same local kid
turbo high spoiler-100 shipped from ebay
eclipse tails-39 shipped on ebay
traded my 95 headlights and 65 bucks for eclipse projectors
had sideskirts, rear bumper and spoiler painted for 50 bucks from a friend of mine who is an awesome painter

so total is like 450 bucks painted and installed. so far everything is on it except for rear spoiler..which should go on monday. i love the new look. made my car look 4 years newer.

Aftermarket headlights are much cheaper than 2GB's. Don't forget the cost of paint, etc. when calculating the cost of the conversion.

180 headlights
200 front bumper
200 rear
175 sides and door caps
100 taillights

it financed my talon conversion.
expect prices near or around there.

So it's done, and i'm really happy at the way it came out. Tints are getting put on tomorrow and it should be dropped in the next couple of weeks! Tell me what you guys think.
