Pictures can't really show you the difference in side skirts, unless you know exactly what you're looking for. When you see them in person, you'll notice that the 2Ga skirts dip up in the center, and are more rounded on the edges. The 2Gb skirts are squared, and go straight across (without the upcurve in the middle).

after the 97+ convertion it will look like...............................

ya read for this ???????

A Ninty eff'n Seven !

your right, mine do dip up in the center, I see the difference now, well I guess I gotta search for sideskirts too...... one question though, to the sideskirts from the 97-up eclipse's bolt right on to where the 95 eclipse gs sideskirts are, I heard you have to drill holes :(

Only if you had an RS. They should bolt right up to your GS. :thumb: Honestly the sideskirts don't matter all that much unless you plan on doing the rear end as well. Here are a few pics of cars with just the front bumper and stock 95 sides and rear. None of these cars belong to me though.

Well, if you need to get rid of the side skirts you have, I know someone that needs a set! ;) What color are they??

I traded a primered blitz front bumper + $300 for a full set of already white 97-99 front, skirts and rear. You can buy the 2gb front replica off eBay for pretty cheap, but remember that you're going to have to do some work with them. IMO you should just keep an eye out for 2gb's that have gone kitted and see what they've done with their OEM bumpers, or in salvage yards too. Check out www.dsmtrader.com too. They're in high demand, so good luck to ya :thumb:

Thanks, one more question......... When I finally do get the 97 front bumper and buy some 97 syle projetors, Will I be able to do the install myself, or should I have a professional do it? Are the holes for the bolts/screws the same on both bumpers?? Thanks for the help!

If you buy an OE bumper everything should fit just right, and all of the holes will be drilled and everything. It shouldnt take more than a few hours max to do the whole swap once you have everything ready.

Right, and just to help you out a bit down the road (most likely), when you put the new headlights in, only put the two top bolts on. There are 4 holding each headlight on, and the bottom two aren't needed. It's a HUGE inconvenience if you have all 4 bolts in and you want to take the headlight out, this way you won't have to take the front bumper off :thumb:

i currently have a 96 eclipse rs...i want to change my front bumper to the 97 version. is this possible without having to do any modifications..and if i do need to modify , what modifications do i need to do?/ thanx :dsm:

You should get the sideskirts and door caps too... hell just do the whole conversion, looks goofy without it

thnx alot you guys are a big help ....is the back bumper conversion difficult? what do i need for the back bumper besides the back bumper... also i don't have a sunroof, do you think a roof scoop would look nice or should i just leave it like that? :thumb:

The only thing different on the back bumper is the reverse lights. Just hook them up to the bulbs you have in your current bumper and you'll be set.

As for sideskirts, everyone has their own opinion of what they like. I think it depends on the color of the car...I love the talon sideskirts on a white car. I wish they would show contours more on my black one, but they still look good.

I'd say no for the roof scoop...too much hassle and it doesn't do anything.

thnx....another question i wan't to put 19inch rims on my car but i also want to drop it by installing tein springs.....do you think when he car is dropped that the body will touch the rims or should i just settle for 18inch?

i had rubbing on 18x8 inch volk wiht a +43 offset...and rubbed liek a mofo when it was aligned right....

You're most likely going to need to roll your fenders in order to fit 19"s on correctly. Also, about the rear bumper conversion, you're going to have to lengthen the reverse light harnesses/wires so they'll reach the new reverse lights. All you have to do is splice some new wire into it though, it's a piece of cake.

thanx for all your help guys :thumb: ....as you can tell i'm a newbie with my eclipse... i have manual side mirrors.....is it a pain to convert them to power mirrors? if not how can i do it?

was searching on ebay this morning and found alot of front 97-99 oem bumpers for sale. from 77.00-150.00 didnt think they were that cheap. hm just a heads up to any1 looking for the pieces.. there all over ebay

I am also about to do the same conversion and I have the same question as you do. All I can think of is we are going to have to make our own custom bracket and drill holes where they need to be. Try searching 2gnt.com , they have some info on there about the swap as well.

i have a 96 rs and i'm doing a 97 conversion i was wondering instead of getting the 97 oem headlights can't i just get the 97 angel eyes?

YES!!!!!!! (sorry, topic discussed alot. After a while it gets kinda old. Search your answers or you will get flamed) :thumb: :talon:
