2ga 2gb 95 96 97 98 99 conversion bumper [merged]

just wanderin what i have to do for a conversion... 95 talon switched to 97 talon. im guessin its just the bumper since the headlights are the same both years? does it just bolt right on? thanx

97-98 Bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, and High Spoiler if you wanted. And yes. Bolt's right up.

I am actually on the hunt for the 97-98 Talon Front Bumper for my car in my color.

The 95 head lights are bigger than the 97 and up (eclipse any way I would imagine it is the same for the talon) when I converted from a 95 talon to a 97up eclipse my stock head lights were like 3 inches to big

Simply wrong. Talon headlights remained the same throughout the 2G production models. Only Eclipses changed.

i threw a talon front bumper on my eclipse it fit perfect...looked pretty cool...

i have the stock bumper back on but i still have it if anyone wants it...

you also need the doors from a 97+ or your backend will look funny. The backend and the door panels have lines in them which makes them different from 95-96s.

You dont need the doors, I think that the moldings on the side of the door a ugly and would remove them.

anyway, all 2g talon's have the same headlights.. so it's simply just a bumper swap.. goodluck, it should only take 10 minutes

For both the front and back bumpers it is a direct swap. You can reuse every bolt, fastener, etc. All you need is a bumper cover. As for the sides, there is no point in taking off your sideskirts since they look better anyway. Get them at wholesalebumper.com and you will be much happier if you have to paint them anyway.

You only need to change Talon headlights if you're going to Eclipse bumper covers. Talon headlights never changed.

i love the way my 97 talon front bumper looks im in the process right now to getting a 95 side skirts (6pcs) from a 95 talon tsi then getting a blitz rear end. i just need to work on my front bumper, since it sits lower i cracked the under side i trimed some just need to trim some more.

you could, but you'd have a gap in between the bumper and lights. a big one. To get everything to match, you have to get a '97+ Eclipse rear bumper, tailights, and reverse lights. You're gonna hafta get brackets for the bumper to stay up in the middle (click the link to see my brackets) you're going to need to lengthen the reverse light wires by about a foot.

Can everyone post their 95 to 97-99 (ECLIPSE) conversion pictures, im really thinking of converting my 95 ECLIPSE to the 97 style and want to know if it will look sweeeet. ALSO, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SIDE SKIRTS?? I HAVE A 95 GS IS THERE A DIFFERENCE???? I HAVE SEEN PLENTY OF 97 AND UP ECLIPSE'S AND I CAN NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND MINE.

If you take a quick search you may notice there are MANY threads discussing the same topic. However, the gallery also has many pics available showing the differences between side skirts and how much like a stock 97-99 you can make your 95 look. Take my Talon for example (maybe I should update the pics).

It all depends on what style you like, and a lot of DSM'ers like the Eclipse 2gb more than the Eclipse 2ga. The 2ga (95-96) skirts are rounded in the middle underneath the door, and on the 2ga turbo models the side skirt has a grey trim around the bottom. The 2gb (97-99) Eclipse skirts are squared off. Here's my before and after 2gb conversion (obviously more too), I definitely think it was worth the time and money.

Thats funny because my 95 eclipse actually looks like it has the same sideskirts as your bottom picture, hmmm, I dunno, but your car sure looks nice with that front end, Im definatley going to do the conversion, how much do you think it would cost me tops on doing the front end conversion? The rear bumper does not bug me as much as that damn front bumper, here's how I see it, tell me if im accurate........

Front bumper $300 tops
Headlights - $200 tops
Paint front bumper - $300

Sound close??? I have no clue, let me know.
