Alright, this seems to be mass easy but I wanna make sure. The rear bumper, front bumper, head lights, and reverse lights are all I need to change correct? What do you think the basic cost of a convert will cost? Is it easy just to find someone parting out a 97-99 or buyin the bumpers new? Is there a web site or another post that already has all my questions answered?

These are the problems you will run into:
1. Availability - its pretty hard to find a 97 - 98 Talon body parts, although it is possible it still presents a problem.
2. Color - if it doesn't match your car then you are going to have to have them painted or put on your car and have your entire car painted. For a good paint job this is at least $1,500+


You do not need headlights or reverse lights for a talon conversion if this is what you are doing, however if you are doing a eclipse conversion then yes you will need the reverse tails and headlights.

Also realize there is a line going through the door on a 97/98 Talon, this might look goofy if you have a line going through the back bumper and the rest of the car smooth.

Personally if you are going to do any conversion on a Talon I recommend to JUST get the front bumper, I think that bumper looks killer on a 95/96 body.

95 -95 Talons have skirts and caps

97-98 talons dont that is why there is a line on the door

97 98 talons have side strakes which mean there are holes in the door

iIMO the bst look would be 97-98 nose and tail and high spoiler with 95-96 skirts and caps for a Talon

on an eclipse things are slightly different
you will need headlights nose and tail, and best if you get the tail with the reverse lights

since you have a 95 the nose and tail and headlights should be direct boltons. you will have to change the fogs if your car is so equipped

I thnnk that the skirts are different on 97-99 eclipses but the caps are the same.

if your friend has the base model which did not have skirts (RS?) then he will probably want to get some.

95 eclipse to 97 eclipse you need,

front bumper
rear bumper
door caaps
sideskirts and ends
97-99 headlight
97-99 foglights
97-99 reverse lighhts

If your you have a eclipse everything should bolt right up. And if you have 95 sideskirts/door caps you can just use those. Fairly easy. When doing talon its more complicated as you have to custom mount the rear and need to get eclipse tailights, other than that it preety much same as eclipse with exception of mountinmg the rear.. But you have an eclipse=cake.

I am coverting from a 95 to 97 front bumper and If you need headlights try ebay. I just bought some Halo Projectors that look sick as hell for only $220 shipped and a new urethane 97 bumper also off of ebay for $175 shipped. If I helped any good if not oh well. LATER

i have a 95 that has gone through the complete 97-99 conversion..

however i think i got all the parts a lot easier than most.. my car had a bodykit when i first got the car.. i just offered to do a straight trade for the body pieces.. so i got the front bumper, rear bumper, 6 piece sideskirts free.. i bought the turbo spoiler and headlights here on the classifieds

i had my whole car repainted cause the car had isht paint before.. so i cannot tell u how difficult it was cause the body shop did all the work..

but if ur going todo the full conversion including the turbo spoiler.. u are going to have holes unless u have it patched..thus why it was just an advantage i had it all done at once with the paint/body work..

I have a 95 GSX with a 97+ conversion. I finally got a pair of 97+ fog lights but I ran into a slight problem.... the fog light plugs do not seem to match up with the plugs for the lights on the car. It seems as if the plug on the car is two boxes put together to make one plug, where as the plug on the lights is made for one solid piece. i have pictures but they're kind of large. Anyone else had this problem?

OK, and how do i match the wires up? I have a black and a red wire on the plug and black and blue on the lights. I assume it would be black to black and red to blue, is that right?

You got a multimeter or a 12 volt test light? Just find out which one is power/ground. Sorry but i don't remeber the wire color.

I have just recently purchased a 97-99 blitz kit for a 96 spyder and I have the 97 projectors so the front is taken care of, but the rear is another story. I have also bought the 97-99 reverse lenses but I do not know If the 96 reverse lights will pull over to where the 97's go. Do I have to buy some kind of extra wires or something? post back.

ummm... just cut and splice. go to local auto part store, but any wire that seems to be the same size, and some solder, and some heatshrink tubes.

Something people failed to mention about the conversion are the fog lamp plugs. They are NOT the same so I'm planning on cutting off the plugs soldering the wires today. Another thing that gave me a little trouble was some little scoop thing on the driver's side fog lamp that was mounted to the 95 fog lamp mounting plate. What is that anyway? I have an oil cooler that gets in the way so i did a ghetto job and zip tied it for the moment. I'll post a pic up later today when I get some will to actually work on the car
