Just a quick question I’m about to do an oil change and was just inspecting around the engine bay and noticed soemthing, not sure if it’s problem or just they way it is. Can’t anyone identify what is in the picture it’s coming out of the firewall on the driver side with a rubber boot on it.

Solution
That's the end of your steering column. Comes through the firewall, has that u-joint style pivot connection, and connects to the steering rack. Looks like the boot is torn, I would just check for play and make sure everything is still solidly connected. Don't think it's a major issue.. but definitely keep an eye on it.

Okay thanks guys for the help, it doesn’t have play but I’ll watch it.

Okay, does it look okay? Just thought it looked weird like it should be in the wall or something

It just looks like the boot is torn. You can replace it or just push it back up into place as best as you can. It's not a huge deal.
