Resolved 2G - Is there meant to be an O-ring in the fuel pump siphon

Going over fuel-related issues I'm having. After scouring the forums I have realized that:

1. My fuel pump just has a hose over the outlet nipple which is then shoved into the female end of my hanger assembly. It does not have the O-ring or plastic cap looking thing. (I did once find the plastic cap thing in my fuel tank and have kept it in a box).

2. I have an O-ring placed in what I think is the siphon joint, circled in red in the 2nd pic. Is that the correct place for it, or should it be over the lip? Or is this O-ring the one meant to go over the pump nipple below the plastic cap?

Currently running a rewired Denso EVO 9 ~220 LPH pump.

The first pic is not mine, it's from the web but I have circled in red what I have (but not put on), and in yellow is what I'm missing. The second pic is how my siphon currently is.

So funny enough I ended up finding an old post of mine from 2017 where I had asked the same question and apparently that is exactly how it is meant to sit, making a nice flush seal against the siphon tube seat so fuel can properly be suctioned.

As for the top hat and O-ring, I have ordered the upgrade Toyota fuel pump seal part number 23239-21010 (Thanks @99gst_racer !) and will be installing it in the next few days when it arrives, leaving the plastic hat(spacer) and o-ring off. Thread can be deleted
