ive read eveything i know the holes need to be drilled to fit the 1g studs. My question is that all? everything else plug in play? Also what size do i need to drill the holes like wht bit?

Why would you want to? From my understanding the 1G head is better then a 2G? Try and find some pictures on google of them and see if the gasket surfaces are the same.

Besides drilling the head hole and extra 1mm, on a 2g head 95-96 the cas is under the intake cam while on a 1g its on the pass side of the head, so you would have to rewire the cas unless the head is from a 97-99(cas is on the 1g side). Also a 2g coil pack.

The holes for the head bolts need to be drilled out 1mm bigger. The 7 bolt head bolts are 11mm and the 6 bolt are 12mm, you will need to use 6 bolt head bolts/studs.

Everything else if just as normal, you will want to use the 2g intake manifold since the difference of ports would cause turbulance, and porting the 2g head would defeat the purpose of using it.

You would want to use a 6 bolt throttle body since its larger and port the intake manifold to match the TB.

This is the setup I have on my talon.

There are tons of threads that give the reason why you would want to use a 7 bolt head on a 6 bolt block.

Good luck.

I have a 91 GVR4 just put a 95 2g head feels like more midd. an a little less up top everything bolts up
just have to open the head bolt holes up a little

You will need the following:

1) Drill head stud holes to 12mm
2) 2g intake manifold
3) 2g water pipe
4) 2g thermostat housing

and obviously all your normal gaskets and fasteners.

To the dude trying to talk you into re-wiring the CAS:

You are wrong, he can just use his 1g CAS, it bolts right up!

I paid only 50 bucks for the head and it only has 21000 miles on it, it was from a 98 gst. I dont have any 2g stuff, i thought u could use all the 1g and bolt it right up, besides the drilling.

All you need is the manifold. All of your other 6-bolt parts bolt right up. This includes the water housing. A 1g manifold will bolt up but the runners are larger on it and flow will suffer.

i will put on the 1g mani for now how much power will i be losing?

Try to picture what is happening when you use the 1g mani on a 2g head, the ports on the 1g mani are almost double the size of the ports for the head. So you have large volumes of air that are going through the manifold the they get to the head and have to some how fit inside the small ports, what happens is turbulence inside the intake mani, which is what you don't want.

The 1g head and mani is good for high volumes of air, as the 2g head and mani are good for velocity of air. Think big straw little straw. Your gonna get more pressure/velocity on the other end of the skinny straw when you blow through it, the bigger straw is gonna require more effort to get that same velocity of air through it.

I would stick with the 1g head until you get a 2g mani, unless you don't care how the car runs till you get the 2g mani. Its not gonna kill your car, but I would hate you if I were your car LOL.
