Has anyone tried this? I am running a vr4 rally car and am looking for more torque and mid range then what I have now. i know the 2g heads have smaller runners and ports etc. so I thought this might help. The car has 9:1s, T3-T4 (20lbs boost), engine management and I want to change cams to help with the mid range if possable.

Try checking out the 1gina2g yahoo group for all the info on that. Its been done numorous (sp) times and works just fine.

Its when you do a 1g head on a 2g motor that causes problems cause of the 1g CAS, but DSMLink can fix that, but I do not know 100% of the details on that just yet, as I am about to preform a full 1g swap to my 95 tsi in a few months.

I did it, and have since swapped to a 1g head, but that's beside the point - all you have to do is drill the head stud holes 1mm larger, an easy task for any machine shop, cost me $15.

dont you have to drill a hole for the CAS also???
i will be doing this swap over winter but i will be running a 2.3.
you should throw some 1g cams in to it also with a 1g TB.
