I'm trying to search but finding nothing and I know the threads are out there. I currently have my 7 bolt motor out of my car. Gonna delete my balance shafts, and replace all the gaskets. One of the exhaust studs broke off in the head and when drilling it, the bit went sideways and messed it up. So I've been debating swapping to a 1g head, manifold, and tb with 2g arp head studs. Can get all the parts for around $180 and wanna do it right while it's out.

Opinions? I know there's the big 1g versus 2g debate about flow and velocity and all. Thanks for any help.

The 1g head flows more up top than the 2g head..The 2g head gives a little more down low..Also I would get the 1g tb, just do make the most out of your swap..

Brian is correct..The 2g offers more veloctiy than the 1g head, not modded..Now having it ported is a whole nother story..I'll save that one for a different conversation..There has been alot of debate over this over the years as well..

Yeah, that's why I'm asking because I've seen the debate. Just can't find the threads. Only reason I'm even considering it is because of one stupid broken exhaust manifold stud.

2G intake makes lower rpm power and velocity is better than 1G, however 1G intake is for better top end but not that good velocity , everybody know that it all depend what you willing to do with your car from there it comes low or high end velocity blah blah stuff like that.....

Thanks for the feedback. I picked up a 1g head, intake manifold, and have a 1g n/t throttle body as well. Dropping it off soon though to make sure everything is good.

I think you will have to do some wiring work, on some 2g heads there is a cam sensor, I do not recall ever have seen a the bolt holes or bosses for a cam sensor on a 1g head.
