I am currently in the market for a FMIC that keeps my 2gb fogs in place. I was looking at the greddy XL but dont know if it keeps fogs. I am also wanting to hear any rocomendations from you guys. Also has anyone used this IC yet? from www.thespeedfactor.com http://www.thespeedfactor.com/files/TSF/2gdsmfmic.jpg

i am also looking to buy this snail http://linux.forcedperformance.net/...oduct_Code=NTDSM18G5H&Category_Code=DSM-Turbo any input on this would be helpful too.

PS i am going to get FPR, walboro, injectors(size? anyone) and dsmlink aswell

i appreciate all ideas thanks guys

You can use the JRC front mount and keep your stock fog lights. Otherwise you will be looking at aftermarket units that fit in the foglight holes.

Its not so much the core that gets in the way, but the way you route your piping. If you mount your FMIC low enough, you can probably route the pipes underneath the fog light assembly, but both your FMIC and your pipes would be much closer to the ground and anything you may run over.

I have done a lot of searching not finding a lot of ppl that are actually running the 18g.

Any input from someone runngin this actually turbo(FP 18g-5h) http://linux.forcedperformance.net/...duct_Code=NTDSM18G5H&Category_Code=DSM-Turbo?
I'm leaning towards that turbo, and plan on getting new Injectors and pump. Does anyone have size suggestions, and whats the main difference between the 255 and the 255HP pump, who needs the highpressure? Also what size injectors would be appropriate?
Looking to pick up a used/new dsmlink aswell.

Also i should def go externally gated right? How much creep should i expect with a turbo of this size?

PM Kyle Mavis (mavisky). He has the internally gated 18G-5H. I've been for a spin in his car and the top end pull is beautiful. He can fill you in on more details, but he was holding 20 psi on the internal gate rock solid to redline. For the pump, a 190 will be plenty for that turbo as would 650-660cc injectors. If you plan on tuning with link then you can pretty much run as much injector as you'd like depending on future upgrade goals.

Hope that helps,

Andy

I've got the fp tdo5h 18g. Mine was just the center cartridge so I'm using an old beat up 7cm exhaust housing that's probably not helping much.

I love the turbo, I'm wwd so my times on it aren't too great, but it was trapping 111-112.5 last year consistently on 20psi and pump gas using all the fuel a rewired 190 could feed to 510cc injectors with the base fuel pressure turned up to 45psi.

I've got the 650's in there now and I think it'd pull a couple more psi on pump no problem. Unfortunately something's happened to it so it's getting sent back to FP within the week. Could've been my fault, might be the turbo, we'll have to wait and see, but don't let this keep you from buying it. It's a great bolt on turbo and should get you into the 350 range easily. Using some 1/4 mile calculators and 2800lbs with driver for my car I'm sitting on around 311 whp and 367 flywheel with 20psi. She's got more in her for sure as I'm still on the stock cams and manifolds with only a 2.5" exhaust.

HA! i have the exact same set up. I wanted more than my small 16g, had the 7cm^2 turbine housing on the 16g, and didn't want to do alot of work so I bought the 18g CHRA from FP when they had it on sale. And, just swapped cartridges. It comes with a machined 14B cover so it looks absolutely stock with matching numbers (except that there is no water lines). Very sleeper.

This turbo does VERY well with stock cams. Intense midrange. And suprises you up top. I ran to 21-22 psi for all of last year. Rock solid with the internal wastegate and the 16g 7 cm^ housing. I feel like I could have pushed it to 25 psi. But I went out and bought a 60-1. I feel like this tdo5h 18g can benefit from an 8cm^2 housing. Because of the more restricting fast spool of the tdo5h turbine wheel. That or either keep the 7cm^2 housing and mate it to a tdo6h turbine wheel (like the big fp turbos set up for the street).

I don't want to whore the thread, but I've got a tdo5h 18g on the way, and I have a Supra SMIC sitting around. Will that be enough intercooler or will it heat soak too easily? Would water injection make it enough to handle the turbo?

You should be ok with that setup. With my ghetto front mount I made two low 13 passes in cool night air within 5 minutes of each other and after driving down the return road with the car still idling I put my hand on the ic and she was still cold to the touch. That was at 20psi. Your smic should do just fine but I'd make sure it has clean breathing. make sure there's nothing blocking the inlet at all and you'll be just fine.

Good to hear. I'll probably build a water inj. kit down the road anyways (after fuel, other mods) so I can boost the shit out of it on pump.

Although not very popular the 18g seems to be a pretty good wheel. Green92gsx on here runs an 18g with a TD06H cover & 7cm housing and runs an 11.3@123-124 w/stock longblock, no nitrous. Very impressive

I have the hahn racecraft intercooler. It appears to flow well from my logs. It's pretty hefty/durable too. :thumb:

Yea. the 6h wheel or the 8cm^2 housing would really bring out the attributes of this compressor.

I was so impressed with the 18g that I didn't think a bolt on 50 trim was a worthwhile upgrade for me. But I wanted an upgrade anyway. so I got a 60-1:D .

I love the 18g. It is a great upgrade from the small 16g, or 14b, or t25. I like it more than an evo3 16gOMG WTF :nono:
