So the yellow wire would run to anything that has “Constant” 12v power so the battery

The red wire would run to anything that can “switch on 12v power” I would recommend wiring it into the light switch so soon as you turn ur lights on ur gauges come on with them or even the key ignition switch either or will be okay just depends how u want them to come on

If you wire the red to your light switch the gauges will not work unless your lights are on.

It’s as simple as the instructions state. Hook the yellow to a constant source like directly to the battery or the a fused source with constant power like door locks for example.

Hook the red to a switched ignition source.

I normally tie everything to the interior fuse box for the least amount of wiring. If you have a diagram, it's self explanatory which ones are constant and switched.

I don’t off the top but u can get a test light and it would help u wire it up no issue it’s very simple straight forward

Yes as stated…

@Nick903@ Ya if you like only having your stuff work with your headlights on only I guess.

Last time I checked lights are turned on and off by the headlamp switch not the ignition switch. Hooking your red wire to the headlamp switch is a battery source switched by the headlamps not a switched ignition source.

So as stated in the directions…..

Look bud, no one said you can hook it up “only” to the light switch. It was a option, you got anything better to do?

Yeah as I stated it should go to a switched 12v IGNITION source. If you wire them the way you have suggested you can only turn your gauges on and off with the headlight switch only.

AND if you leave your headlights on accidentally your gauges will stay on as well. As I stated the headlamp switch is not a 12v switched ignition source.

You clearly stated that you would recommend hooking it to the headlamp switch??

I am recommending not to and hook it to a switched 12v ignition switch. Which IMO is better to answer your question “bud”.

OP, hopefully you understand this information and can finish your gauge install.

I'm waiting for the next spicy comment or a moderator to close the thread 🍿
No more spicy comments… just some people don’t know how to read correctly better less talk a lot of **** behind a “phone” and think there the stuff but the quietest and friendliest in person 🤦‍♂️🤣
