When I shut my car off all the lights, radio, turbo timer, and everything go off as they should, but if I try to start my car 2 days later she is dead and won't start. At first I thought it was the battery so I bought a new one and she is still doing it. I don't think it's the alternator because she runs fine when driving and if it was my alty she would be bucking and gurgling and dying.

I know its a slow drain on the batt as I can start it everyday just fine but if I wait 2 or more days she is dead can someone help me out please?

could it be my alternator?
Note my coil pack is missing the mounting tabs to mount it below the fuel rail. I bought the car that way, and am installing my new coil pack this weekend. Could that be the issue?

Any feedback helping me get this problem resolved would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

Test the alternator wile running, should be putting out 13-14 volts at the battery!U can take it to autozone or advance auto parts and they will do it for free.If that checks out good unplug the battery from the car for the same amount of time it usually goes flat and see what happens, i have had a new battery with a bad cell more than once!

You put an ammeter in line with I believe the power side of the battery and start pulling fuses until the draw goes away. If that doesn't work you gotta start pulling wires.

Do you have a basic test light? Pull the neg cable end and clamp it with the test light and then stick the probe to the neg terminal on the battery . If the test light is bright you have a draw, just pull fuses until it goes out. Then find out what is all on that circuit and go from there. This is the fastest and simplest way i have found to check for a drawl.

wow sweet so all I need is a test light, and put one lead on neg terminal of batt and the other one on the neg wire from the batt? if thats how I do it sure does sound simple enough....

It is very simple. You have to have the cable off the battery with the test light between the battery and the cable.

aright sweet thanx

took alternator in today and she as bad. Failed 2 out of 3 tests so I think I found my problem... Thanks guys

well after replacing a bad alternator the troubles continued... I did a draw test today and found the following to be pulling voltage through neg terminal

1) ign switch
2) interior lights
3) door locks
4) backup lights

Guess I have yet another fun weekend LOL.....

I took mine to a shop because it was doing the same thing. After a month the guy figured out it was the door locks draining it over night.
