Just bought a 1995 2g eclipse GSX with a 6 bolt swap. car ran fine when test driving.
compression was good across all cylinders. motor supposedly had new head gasket and timing belt done
On way home went to get gas and it started pouring all over the ground. The guy didn't screw sending unit on correctly. then i noticed coolant on the ground from the over flow tank. Never saw gauge temp spike ran a bit over normal. (only has one fan)

Gauge was bouncing between normal and 3/4 way up when check engine light came on steering wheel started vibrating so i pulled over and it died. Wasnt able to restart it after that it started to crank but didnt turn over. Then it stopped cranking altogether. Looked engine over and noticed crank pulley against the frame.

any thoughts?

Crank bolt looks fully seated and pulley bolts look seated as well. How's the motor mounts? Are they all there? I know on my 1 g, halfway on the stock coolant gauge is about 250*. That's getting into the danger zone. Can you turn the engine over with a breaker bar from the crank bolt?

Is there any chance that there might be front end damage? That's what my Spyder looked like after a collision. I didn't know that the frame rail was bent until I started disassembling the whole front clip. I certainly hope that's not what your problem is, though.

As hotrodssnova said, look at the motor mounts and make sure that they all still have rubber in them. You could check the bellhousing as well to make sure that it's flush with the block. If any of the bolts are missing, it can flex quite a lot.

Something should look really out of place....
