ok just found out my car has a 6 bolt block... but from what i can tell it has a 7 bolt head...
my question is does this give u more power..
or would i be better off going back to a 6 bolt head
the car is a 98 awd
i did a search but couldnt find the benifits of running that head with that block

Honestly it's nothing you are going to notice...but rule of thumb is:

7-Bolt head better down low, 6-Bolt head fly up high.

Basically I am saying the 6-Bolt flows better at higher RPMs.

It depends on what you have . . . My 2G has a 6 bolt stroker(2.3) with the stock/mildly ported 2G head. The slightly smaller ports on the 2G head increase intake charge velocity at low-to-midrange rpm`s, which compliments the stroker platform very well. If you plan to rev to the stratosphere, go with a 1G head . . . :talon:

Like talontrax said it depends on your setup, its been proven though the 2g head can out flow the 1g head. Most people go with 1g head which is very effective but a 2g head with intake openings matched to 1g large ports will increase intake velocity through out low to high RPMS
