My friend is selling his SBR head with HKS 272 cams in it. It is on the 6 bolt motor. I have a 92 (second half) so my engine is a 7 bolt. Will this head fit my engine? What all would I need to do in a project like this. Is it just as simple as taking the old one off and bolting the new one on, timeing and that stuff?

it should work fine , but they say that the stock 2g head flows better that a stock 1g ..
is the head you are getting ported

Yes, it will fit. gsxeclipse97 is correct, all 1G heads are the same regardless of whether it is from a 6 or 7 bolt block. The 2G head has smaller intake ports which makes the motor more responsive at lower rpm's but the 1G head flows more air in the higher rpm's. With the addition of the 272 cams it should flow quite well in the top end.

Wrong. all 1G heads are not the same. In SOME cases 7bolt 1G heads utilize slightly smaller machined holes for the headbolts. Make sure you use the corresponding headbolts.
