OK i have a couple of questions again to any one who can help me ###...so on the first picture where would the other end of the blue hose go connected to? and on the second picture on my branused motor i just put in, it has a hose coming off my valve cover and i have no idea where it goes connected to either, as on my old motor or old valve cover i did not have that hose... so my question would be anybody know what those hoses are for and where would they go connected to???

They connect to each other. The valve cover vent connects to the intake pipe. It's not a bad idea to put a catch can between the two.

WOW! I can tell you why your engine went. That thing was running lean. It was getting extra unmetered air so the computer never added extra fuel for the extra air. Definitely hook those lines back up.

A catch can is to catch all the atomized oil, moisture, and anything else that comes out of your pcv system instead of getting sucked into the turbo and IC piping.

You have a bunch of reading to do I can tell you that. Hook your lines up and dig in to anything you don't know about on here. :thumb:

ya after reading that article ya thats more than likely why i blew my block :ohdamn: so ill make sure of connecting them back up would't want to blow my block or anything else again...

OK and so my car is all stock so would i need a catch can???... and where would it go and where would i be able to find one if i do need it???

Sorry how i said I'm new to this and diagrams don't really help me that much pictures work 100x better

Questions. Thats good. Eager to learn. Just some advice so you don't get flamed up in the future.
All your answers are more than likely right here. DSM Forums - Search Forums Your gonna have to do some leg work yourself.

Stock system is fine but could be improved like in the tech article.
Location? firewall, fender, or any hole you can fit it. Look at the gallery for engine shots.
Look up the supporting vendors or freelancer like Calan makes them. Calans are damm nice cans!

even if your 100% stock, its still a good idea to run a catch can. When air gets vented back into the air intake pipe from the valve cover, oil and some water go with it, all a catch can does is let the oil fall into the catch can and only let the air pass thru

catch can will help keep all that oil and gunk from getting into your intake then turbo then intercooler piping, then throttle body... its messy. trust me! a catch can will only help! get a cheap one off of ebay for like 20$

OK so i just looked at some pics i guess they don't look that hard to install i just wouldn't know where the 2 hoes would go connected to on my car, I'm assuming one of them goes where that black hose on my picture goes connected to right?

And just to make sure and double check the blue hose on my pictures is the same hose as the black one right? And i can just take off the blue one and connect my black hose where the blue one was at right?

Can anyone PLEASE HELP.. I just put in a new motor in my car 97 eclipse gst I think I have everything connected right and it has new oil change and spark plugs all new gaskets. I have my boost control turned all the way down. So for the first time I turned my car on sounded good seemed like everything was good like it always does, so I took it out for a little test drive drove good changed gears perfect (automatic tranny) drove it slow and just cruised around maybe like about for 5miles everything seemed good so I took it out on the high drove it normal and coasted up to 65mph and put it on cruise control and my turbo started spooling on its own so I turned cruise control off and got off the high way and started driving slow about 20mph and the turbo was still creeping up on its own or so it said on my stock boost gauge so I pulled over and when I tried going again the car felt like it had no power and the turbo just kept creeping up on its own so I got home and turned it off and now it won’t even start like it kind of wants to buts seems like its’ not getting enough gas or not even if u try revving it while turning it on...
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it I just want to get it back on the streets asap
