After looking at my car, i am pretty sure I figured out where that connector might go... as far as for what, I have no idea. There are 2 sets of connectors that are right under my upper intercooler hose. 1 is a 4-wire connector and the other is a 6-wire connector that looks just like that. I will try to get pictures.

That would be amazing. Please post those pictures. It is the 4 pin connector.

I checked my '90 and the only plug in that area (comes out of the harness leading to the positive battery terminal) is for the cruise control. Check the wire colors: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/electrical-tech/393306-please-tell-me-plug-important.html.

Auto-cruise control vacuum pump, 4-pin connector:
Pin 1 - Blue with orange
Pin 2 - Blue with red
Pin 3 - Blue with yellow
Pin 4 - Blue with black

Remember, just because your car isn't equipped with something from the factory doesn't mean it won't have the harness connections for it in place. However, 1990 model year DSMs were never equipped with ABS so 1990 vehicles/harnesses will not have connections for it. If your car was never equipped with cruise control from the factory, it would makes sense that the harness connection is there but taped to the rest of the harness as the picture shows.

I looked and I failed.. after closer examination for pictures, I noticed that they were deffinetely not the right wires. 19Eclipse90 is probably right about it being for the cruise control though....
