I have a 90 talon tsi that I am currently putting a 2.3 Eagle stroker kit into.
This is a Rally car, so limited as to the turbo inlet size. It is open class, and I plan on running approx 25ish lbs boost.
My question is related to valve choice. I am trying to decide whether to upgrade the valves or not.
The stock valves are good, but I have no experience with whether I may be burning up the exhaust valves.

It seems that with the restriction on the turbo, I will never get above low 300s bhp. Approx 328 by my newbie calculations... Not sure how this affects things regarding heat...

I do plan to run rally anti-lag via ecmlink.

Any thoughts on whether stock valves are OK? I cannot find a ton of benefit to changing them myself.

Thanks!

The stock valves will be ok as long as you don't run lean. At that power level I dont and danger. What size turbo do you have? Bigger valves will help it breath a little better if you are looking to gain some power.

Stock valves should be fine as long as you have the OE 6T valves.

If they are some shop replacement valves, I would change them out.

If you go +1mm os and do not have the throat of the bowl opened up, then you will flow about the same as stock sized valves.

If you are planing on a Valve job, you may want to install bronze valve guides, they will take the abuse better and not wear as fast as the stock iron guide.
