i have a 92 laser with a 2.3l stroker in it, it also has a 16G turbo. im afraid of blowing it up because everything else is stock. i need to know where to go with this car. Im planing alot for this thing and if i blow it up im gunna scrap it so please help me out and let me know what to do. Thanks

If there is NOTHING done besides the swap and 16G then:

Manual boost controller.
Exhaust.
FMIC.
Engine management- ECMlink, SAFC, MAFT-Pro
650's-680's unless you plan on going bigger down the road then just do it right the first time.
Fuel pump- 190lb, 255lb, 044.

ok let me clear a few things up, the whole bottem end is built, and it has the 16g turbo. everything is stock other then that. im buying a 250 walbro form a guy this week. where can i pick up dsm liknk and like some 750cc injectors for a reasonable price?

If you don't know what needs to go with the engine why'd you get it built? If you don't know what you need you probably are unsure on how to do the work on the car. Is someone helping/are you paying someone to help you?

You'll also need everything listed above as well as a AFPR would be smart.

ok im not a dumb ass im a ASE certified tech. i dont know why you guys dont have high hopes for my car. this is the first forum ive ever been on where the members talk down to the newbs instead of helping. im trying to do the samething as everyone else. i want to build my car to run 12 sec 1/4, so if you dont wanna help kick rocks! i just want good pointers and where to go with my car. i bought a walbro 250 fuel pump, and i was told by a good friend to just buy the apexi AFC and was wondering what everyone thinks. please if you have bad stuff to say just save it i dont have time for that stuuf.

Well if you read your first post, there is no way that anyone would guess that you are a certified ASE tech. From your post, it appears that you don't have the knowledge required to properly build and tune that setup....so you shouldn't be surprised (or upset) that people are worried about you blowing up your motor.

There was some good advice given in this thread. There is also a dedicated stroker forum that you may want to browse around in as well.

What he said^^

I gave you a link with everything you need to know. Click on the 2G upgrade path and it tells you what mods you need to get first to build a motor the right way. Follow that to the T and you will reduce the chances of Fing something up. Although if you are ASE certified Id expect you to know these things already.

First off Walbro doesn't make a 250... It is a 255... And most ASE mechanics are dumbasses and have no idea what there doing. I wouldn't trust one of the ASE cert. people at my local dealership besides the one that owns and built his talon. He actually knows something.. Did you build the stroker??? What parts did you use?? Ya my stock block is a good launch away from 12s so that is a pretty weak goal... Dont take it personal but everyone is flaming you because you really have no idea how to build it yet. Instead of asking questions start reading and read alot. Almost every question you have has been answered. There is safe timing advance and safe amounts of boost, safe rev limit... All stroker questions will be answered in this forum... Read up and be able to support an answer if someone asks you and you wont be flamed.. GL

EDIT: Im not calling you a dumbass LOL.. Sorry if it came out that way

forget all the reading and stuff i dont have time for that i got so much stuff going on, i just need some quick and easy answers. and ive already built a talon for a buddy and it runs 11's all day, but that was a completely different set up and i dont have the time to mess around and study. i need this car built within about 3 weeks so if i could just get people who have built a 6bolt 4G63 and made it a 2.3 stroker.

If you've built an 11sec talon then i'm assuming you know that you will need the proper supporting mods for your power goals and how much boost you plan to run. For now I would keep the boost at stock to avoid damage. How much compression does the motor have?
Running 12s can be done on:
550-650cc injectors
used SAFC for tuning
2g MAF
190lph/evo8-9 fuel pump
logger (mmcd)
highly recommended: wideband
porting manifold outlet, turbine inlet and o2 housing

Obviously you'll need turbo-back exhaust as well as an upgraded intercooler, whether its a frount mount or supra
sidemount.
That is pretty much the bare minimum, anything faster will require a different recipe for destruction

When you've seen as many people as we do on this forum that build their engine not knowing what they are doing because they "dont have time for that BS" and then post a million "why is my car stuttering at 3000RPM" posts, it gets a little old. If you don't have the time to research what YOU need for YOUR build then you aren't going to get much support here. It is YOUR responsibility to do the research not ours. People will only post up the same info so many times before its simply redundant and annoying.

Last time i checked 11s are 400 plus hp which requires some kind of tuning... Have fun. You really won't get much on this site where everything is a search button away...

we went 11's in a different car, a 2.0L awd and to get technical it was a 11.67. but we have DSM Link in that car and i dont want to do DSM link again i want it to be easier, something like a data logger and a AFC, with all the supporting mods running about 20 - 25psi. (###### closer to 20psi seeing i wanna DD this car.)

Well if you want an easier way, id say get a eprom ecu and have it chipped(keydiver) for your set up. Its gonna be tough tuning in injectors larger then 680cc or even 650cc with an SAFC. Your best option for tuning is that dsm link and if you have it might as well use it, best in tuning and isn't as much of a hack job as a safc.
