Hey guys and gals! I apologise in advance if this question has been asked in the past.. Unfortunately like many of you I am extremely busy with my day to day life and I dont have time to read a million threads :(.

Anyway I have a 93 talon es with a 92 4G63T and an evo 16g turbo. I recently spun 2 of my rod bearings and the mains. I have another 1993 4g63T block that I started building a 2.3L stroker out of. I am about half way through the build and I am wondering if the stock TsI ECU will actually run a stroker without too much trouble, or do I have to upgrade to the full prog. AEM?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be apriciated thank you!

It will run it.

But, your gonna want DSMLink, AEM is over priced and not really needed unless your building a full race car or just want a nice way to spend 10 grand.

Haha the whole build isnt even costing me 10 grand. i got the stroker kit for 2000 and my stage 4 race head complete with valvetrain for 2700. And it cost me 600 to get it decked and bored 30 over. but as long as the stock ecu will run it i dont have much to worry about. Now i have had a few dsm's in my time but never really got into the tuning.. What exactly is DSMLink?

You really don't need AEM, but you do need something to control timing and injectors. You can use DS-map, link, or a chip from keydiver but for all of them you need an e-prom ecu.

agreed. you will be able to run it but you will need something to compensate the extra stroke. you will need either an afc or DSMlink. I am waiting to get the DSMlink myself so I can run speed density with it. It will be much cheaper than anything I have found to do so.

Ok, I am new to this whole tuning thing. I have had many stock dsm's over the past 6 years. never really had much luck with any of them but they are amazing cars while they are running :) Where would be the best place to get this stuff? Obviously living in canada there is no where local I can go (already tried the proformance shops that were open today)
