yes i have a 95 eclipse gsx 7 bolt i am going to be rebuild. i want to make it a stroker motor and have questions i haven't found on the 7 bolt but have found on the 6 bolt?

i know i will be needing a 4g64 crank as well as different pistons? my question is on the 7 bolt girdle, will it need to be grinned? if you can find pictures of this it will help me. also what piston to rod combo will i want to go with? :thumb: thanks

Yes, you need a 7-bolt 4g64 crankshaft along with 6mm shorter pistons. You will use stock length rods. You might need to grind some areas of the block and girdle, but it's rare. Otherwise there are no other modifications needed.

For brands, I would suggest Manley or Wiseco for the pistons. Both make "stroker" pistons. For rods, Eagle would be a good choice, but there are many good brands.

ok thats what i was worried about the grinding part. and thanks for the reply. also the crank should i get it new or used? i was going to have dsm graveyard do my build but i am just going to do it myself i think. would you recommend dsm graveyard to do a engine?

so its the stock rods and 4g64 crank and different pistons that are stroker correct?

also i see you live in colorado springs and i wanted to ask what is a good machine shop there? i am about 2 hours away from there. if you know were i can take my block that would be great.

thanks

I wouldn't recommend Graveyard. They have a horrid reputation on here. I would buy a good condition used crank and have it reconditioned by a shop.

Burt's Auto Supply is a good shop in the springs. They do good work for cheap.

And yes, stock length rods, -6mm pistons, and 4g64 crank.

thanks WES i will look up there number to call on Monday. if i need any help can i message you?

i have read there reviews on here also and had to just ask you know.

also what compression ratio should i go for. and will milling the bock interfere with the piston to valve clearance?
