i have great compression both dry and wet!.. taking apart the fpr this weekend.
 
An engine that has ever had a knocking bearing needs a complete teardown and rebuild. Depending on how long it was run after the bearing issue it may need a new crank, rod(s) pistons, turbo, head, etc. The bearing material going through the engine damages every part that relies on oil to either float on a film of oil, or lubricate it's movement.

As for the original problem. What is the fueling setup on the car? Injectors, pump, fpr, tuning solution?
