Do you like Anti-lock brakes??
You'll be looking for an ABS delete kit. I know there's a vender or two that has them.

if i disconnect the abs to paint then when i hook it back up do i just bleed the brakes at the calipers? or is there a different way of doing it

also i have looked and all the kits i can find are for 2g's

You are correct you will just have to re-bleed the system after re-installing it. If you want to delete it than you can get the lines and prop valve from any 1g without abs and install them on your car.

yeah i looked and i would like to delete it but not paying 250 and thats the only kit i have seen LOL i wanna do my engine bay real nice and fill in all holes and paint it LOL first jon is getting rid of abs but need to find a non abs valve... there isn't even any dsm's in our junk yards around here

i just need the valve i can bend the lines any idea were to get a cheap valve?

Check craigslist, i would be willing to bet that there are all kinds of dsm parts on there in your area. There are a ton of dsm's in Wisconsin.

You can go to a parts store and buy hard line for a few dollars and bend it yourself. All you would then need is the proportioning valve. I wouldn't ever uses hoses as my primary brake lines. They are fine going from the chassis to the wheel, because they need to flex, but to do away with hard lines to go to stainless-lined rubber is just dumb IMO...and for $250.

yes if you wanna paint engine bay then just unbolt it and when u put it back bleed your brakes as you normally would on the calipers

i got my abs delete kit from user evil94evo he sometimes has them in the classifieds. I think it was maybe $75-100 included the non abs valve and the lines. the 1g abs sucks anyways it certainly cleans up the bay too without that big ol honkin thing there.

its your abs unit as everyone said..DELETE IT LOL buy the delete kit complete and make sure u get stainless steel braided lines while your at it...you might as well itll help with the feel of the brake pedel (less mushy)

Actually, if you replace hard line with stainless braided lines it will make the pedal feel worse. You get better pedal feel when replacing the short rubber hoses that go from the chassis to wheel because the rubber stretches. Hard lines do not deform whatsoever. I suppose they do on a microscopic level, but nothing a human foot could ever detect. Replacing hard lines with hoses is a dumb idea, and hard lines a few feet long from a parts store is less expensive, if you can't find the lines at a junk yard.
