Were you refering to clearancing the 1g head for the screw heads that are on the back of the 2g intake cam gear?

Hey,
Does anyone know the difference between cam identification #'s. My problem is I have 85 to 80 psi between all four cylinders. Now this is my third engine rebuild and have gotten the same results every time. The only thing I haven't replaced is the head. Now the numbers on the intake cam are 01 and 9, and the exhaust are 28 and 9. On another cylinder head I have, the cam numbers are on the intake 27 and 9, and on the exhaust 08 and 9. From the looks of the numbers the cams are reversed, but that's imposible due to the mounting of the crank angle sensor. So needless to say from compression tests to a makeshift leak down test (removed compression gauge and ran air compressor to it), I have found no answer. The timing marks are lined up perfectly. I am getting a new cylinder head from aluminumcylinderhead.com for $400, and putting it on this weekend. The father and son combo I bought this car from gave me the full reach around job, and they weren't even gentle with the rubber glove!![]()
jetdriven said:I believe that a letter is stamped in the tail end of the cam opposite the cam gear. A-B-C-D are your options. C is the correct cam letter for a 1991-1994 turbo MT car. D may also be true. Need a pair of "C" cams.
For 400$ you can get a head rebuilt by Bj's cylinder head of Tulsa OK. For this you get a radius valve job that flows higher than stock. BJ built Shepard's head, he ran 7's on that.
