Picks this up on Craig's list for a good price. Vins tells me 91+? Looks ok to me? What did I buy? He's telling me 92 laser.

Looks like I have a 93-99 tranny

If you are planning on using that trans in your car you'll need a different 3-4 setup. The 93+ hub/slider will explode.

NPXV is 91 to 94. Since there is no VIN I'm guessing that is a warranty replacement. It does have the larger 93-94 hubs for 93 94 style but that still could've been in any 91 to 94 car. I agree with donnie. Don't use that in a high hp car.

I purchased a Evo 3 conversion kit from jacks. This should solve he problem correct?

This is how I learn guys. I completely disassembled and reassembled the transmission several times until it was second nature. I only ran Into one problem. The last time I assembled the transmission the shift fork towards the outside of the case, that is actuated when you pull up on the shift lever kept Sliding over so it couldn't be actuated. So basically the c shaped metal piece on the shift rail that hooks in to the shift lever actuator keeps sliding out of position. Am I missing something? This transmission will be getting the PPG dogbox

If all the pins are present that's not possible. If you don't have the 5th gear on that can happen.

That is a 93-94 gearbox.
