So I got 2 different engines n transmissions. One stock 1990 and one built 1990 I won't get into specifics but one came with a brand spankin new 6 puck (since the built trans has 0 miles on it) and one came with a barely used 4 puck... They both have act pressure plates. Both claimed to be 2600s but they look different...

Now I know act switches up the look of their pressure plates every so often so they might be both 2600s. I'm positive the dirty older one is a 2600, it was from early 2005 and the back of the finger says 121 and another post clued me in that it was 2600 (hd they call it)

just not sure about the newer one, dunno when it was made either. The guy said the trans was like 10 years old LOL just never used so the PP might be from around then also, the dirtier one says 03-10-05 under the ACT logo....

But with the newer one.. It says..

ACT
071226103

...(maybe the 07 12 26 means 12-26-2007? That's about 10 years like the guy said...)

...Then it says

SFI
F093391

...and on the back of the fingers it says

207 (on one)
310 (on the next one)

Any info you guys could throw my way I would really appreciate...
Thanks guys..

Look for an mb010x on the plates. The newer ribbed fingers one should have it, the early ones don't, act didn't mark them all, nor did they keep all the info on them. Just went through this myself. Best bet is to measure the clamp load

I did. Not there, although it looks newer it's probably older just not used.

I'm building for about 600whp and I was hoping for a 2900 but I probably have 2 26s.. One of them is actually sold I have to ship it out with a mess of other parts..

The thing that was cool is the 6 puck is brand new not even a start up, and the 4 puck measures a high .30 to low .31 and new is .315.. So I'm probably gonna get a 2900 and use up the 4 puck, then move to the 6, or if I really like the 4 puck I'll sell the other 2600 with the 6 puck and just stick with the 4.. Gotta play around with diff combos..

I'm excited for the built trans though

Althought it's just a stock rebuild with double synchros 2-4 and a welded center. I'm gonna get a comp forged fork n pivot.. And hope for the best

Eventually sending out my gearsets to get shotpeened n such. Hopefully that will enable them to take a punch.

Anyone else have any pressure plate into?

I'm going to call act.. But they're closed for memorial day.. Trying to order the stuff I'm gonna need asap. And if it's a 2900 that would be awesome and I would be set, but I'm usually not that lucky..
