Has anyone ever had a problem with a brand new act pressure plate? I have been having a problem with high rpm lockout in my car ever since i installed this clutch. I have sent the tranny back to shep, replaced the flywheel, installed a 4 puck, put two washers on the pivot ball, tried every trans fluid they make, played with shifter cables, adjusted the clutch so far that i can hear the fingers of the pressure plate hit the disk. It just grabs the littlest bit above 6000rpm, before i change the clutch i just wanted to see if anyone else has expireanced this problem. its a 2600 pp

I just bought a 90 AWD...has the 2600 in it. Thing is a piece of shit to be honest. Didn't even have the car one day and everything went to shit...car is sitting at the shop right now, possible tranny problem but definately the clutch is toast.

The problem was the car would shift fine when not running, but once it was turned on, I couldn't get it into gear...could get it in 3rd though, and once it was in 3rd, even though I went back to Neutral and the shift levers on the tranny were in Neutral, it would still be in 3rd gear. THAT could be a trans problem, but the whole thing with the clutch I hate. It engaged right off the floor and everything. I mean, could be worn components, but honestly I would never get a 2600....I'm having a 2100 put in.

I had a brand new act 2600 with a similar problem. It wouldnt release no matter how many times i bled the clutch. I replaced my master and slave cylinder and the line. I shimmed the pivot ball and swapped out forks. Eventually only the clutch was left to check, which ment taking the trans back out. I shipped the pressure plate back to act and they confirmed the diaphram was busted. You could only barely tell that one of the fingers in the pp was higher than the other. Any ways, its under warranty, ship it back to have it checked out. ACT will check it and check the one they send you to make sure you get a good one.
